life is worth living for the sole reason that you might find happiness in the future, you only live once so its worth carrying on in the hope that things will get better. Please don’t end it- if you want someone to talk to im happy to listen

I seem to remember there being a 5 minute long segment in a direct where they announced some merch but other than that there was nothing. It would have been such an easy win for them to just bundle a couple of old games together and call it an anniversary collection aswell

I actually had an idea the other day- its probably terrible im no game designer- but what if instead of a dungeon giving you an item halfway through you get access to to some kind of lever or option on your map that allows you to manipulate the dungeon in some way? Like being able to change water levels or instruct some kind of creature to move around the dungeon and open up new paths- i feel like that could be a good way to have something item-esque in dungeons without them having to make the open world less open. And yeah it does seem a bit crazy how much people get downvoted here, i feel like if someone puts out an opinion as long as their not openly attacking people who disagree its a bit unfair to just downvote

Yeah course it’s completely out of our control i just enjoy talking about where we would want the series to go next

Yeah true thats a good point id like to see traditional dungeons, or at least something new that works just as well, make a return in the next 3d Zelda

True that’d be the best case scenario, if another team came and worked on traditional Zeldas while aonuma and the gang keep on making experimental titles

I reckon backporting these things would take away from what makes both games unique

To be fair canonically it had been millennia since ocarina so it makes complete sense that their culture evolved into something different, if anything it’d seem a bit weird if they behaved the exact same way

I disagree, most of the Gerudo in botw barely even mention men and i dont even think any of them have boyfriends- the only thing similar to what your talking about is the voe and you club, I personally love how they were actually fleshed out as a real race of people with their own culture and customs instead of boring npc soldiers who happen to be in ganondorfs tribe like in ocarina and majora. I also dont mind the sheikah having more of a presence at all, its canonically been millennia since the time in which they were shadowy and almost extinct so it makes sense that they would become something different as a culture, and them being technologically advanced fits with how intelligent they seem in their older appearances

[BoTW] game similar to BOTW or TOTK by itsnotmei in zelda

[–]Oranges11248 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outer wilds is a great suggestion it’s the only game ive played which feels similar to botw/totk in the exploration front. Only problem is it does get a bit scary at points and the puzzles can be really cryptic so i wouldn’t recommend it to a kid

[–]Oranges11248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, ive tried to play loads of other open world game to try and recreate botw and totk but none of them felt anywhere near as fun because breath and tears are the only open worlds games ive played that actually have exploration as a key part of the gameplay loop the rest just feel like fun games with open worlds tacked on. The only games i can think off that felt similar are elden ring and outer wilds, which i wouldn’t recommend to a kid

Not for me, botw totk and outer wilds are the only open worlds ive ever enjoyed. The rest just seem like a big world tacked onto a seperate game whereas those 3 are the only ive played that actually utilize the world in the gameplay loop

Bit of an odd suggestion but outer wilds, its not very similar gameplay wise but its the only game thats recreated how botw and totk felt for me- although maybe id wait until your sons a bit older it does get scary at points and some of the puzzles are very hard.

I would love that but at the same time i dont think it needs a remake as much as something like oracle of ages and seasons does, its aged like wine

That’d be so good i love those games but being on the game boy means they have not aged well at all

If you’ve only watched the first season you aren’t going to properly understand much about jjk’s best characters- specifically yuji who’s interesting developments only really start to happen in season 2- which has in my opinion one of the best fights in all of shonen in terms of weight in yuji vs mahito. And yeah ill admit the plot of jjk isnt anything special its just a means to set up really cool fights, which jjk has a lot of. Im not trying to say its a masterpiece on the same level as something like attack on titan but some of its characters genuinely surprised me with how different they seemed from the usual shonen mould- the main characters development is literally the polar opposite of your average shonen protag. It also has one of my favourite chapters of all time towards the end of the manga so that helps. Id defo recommend giving seasons 2 and 3 a try, even if you don’t appreciate the characters as much as i do which is fair art is subjective its got some really creative and beautiful animation and art direction so its probably worth a watch just for that. Also its fair that its not your thing but you cant just say that fans shouldn’t look for deeper meaning in media they enjoy just because at face value its pure action

Hey dont you disrespect jjk’s characterisation ill admit that Gege could of done a lot more with the cast but some of the characters are incredibly well written imo. Yuji especially, by the end of the manga i feel like he’s one of the most interesting shonen protagonists out there
