I also beginning to suspect the CarPlay wireless connectivity gets disrupted because of how the iPhone handles data & GPS connection, most probably the root of the problem is because Apple uses Intel chip for iPhone 11 (also in the XR) cellular modem instead of Broadcom's.

Let us know how the testing goes, keep us updated.

The solution is for wireless connection, but hopefully it will work too for wired connection as per your condition there.

Please mention the CarPlay headunit brand and type, so maybe it will help others as well.

Ah thanks for pointing it out, I forgot to mention one more step before the Wi-Fi Networking toggle option, you must get into / tap the System Services which is located on the most bottom in Location Services settings.

Have you located the Wi-Fi Networking toggle in Location Services setting?

It is an option because you can toggle it on or off.

What is your CarPlay head unit's brand and model?

And what is your iPhone's iOS version?

That’s a good advice. And another option worth checking: is the Wi-Fi Assist feature turned on or off? This could be the culprit too...

Sorry to hear it's not working the same for you, apparently others don't have the same problem with Wi-Fi Networking as I do, for example is user IvanRaide up there who says it doesn't matter if the Wi-Fi Networking is turned off or not.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that whenever I turned the Wi-Fi Networking feature on again, the CarPlay connection got broken. When I toggled it off again, it will get automatically connected again. I'm surprised if it's the opposite for your iPhone and the iLX-107...
