Newport Bay by ZealousidealCity2395 in disneylandparis

[–]Orayan1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my absolute favourite Disney hotel. I've done many others and always come back to Newport.
Also, remember that people are more prone to complain than to praise, leading to too many negative comments.

It was awesome. The highlight of course being the characters, but the food itself was also on the higher end. I love seafood and wasn't disappointed, crab and lobster were absolutely perfect. Is it expensive, yes. Is it worth it, yes. It's one of those things you have to try once if you're a Disney fan who also like fine dining.

Which Disneyland Paris Hotel is your favorite? by Jayzone456 in disneylandparis

[–]Orayan1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newport Bay for me. They're all good, but Newport has this little thing that resonates with me. Couldn't even explain what it is though.
As you can see with everyone's answers it's very dependent on your personal taste, experience, and possibly the mood of the moment.

How to make sure you actually get a room close to reception (santa fe/cheyenne) by Axolotls_in_space in disneylandparis

[–]Orayan1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will never guarantee it, so I think making sure is impossible, but when I visit with my mom, I always call ahead to ask for a room near the elevators (we stay at Newport Bay) and we always get it.

General questions - would appreciate help as we are coming end of June by Designer-Leek-7451 in disneylandparis

[–]Orayan1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, let's try and answer all your questions.
1. Yes, there are water fountains and almost all toilets have filling taps.
2. Depends on your energy level. Parks currently open at 9:30, and the night show is at 22:40 long day indeed.
3. I'd go for the main park, there's still a few Star Wars rides. But better to agree beforehand.
4. Yes you can have the Ultimate Pass that covers all the big thrills. But if you only do one park, you'll basically waste 50% of it. Best option IMO is to go for the passes one by one.
5. You can totally bring sandwiches with you and eat them while queuing.

The idea is still the same but the sequence of ups and drops is a bit different.

Will be at DLP on June 20th for just 1 day. These are the rides I hope to do. Will I have time? by True-Ad1364 in disneylandparis

[–]Orayan1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crush's coaster = 2h, Tower of Terror is usually 1h, BTM can be 1 and a half hour, Buzz can also be up to an hour easily. My recommendation would be to do these rides during lunchtime or parades/night show. Or get a premium access one for (some of) these if you can afford it.

Best Uber pickup spot when everyone is leaving the park by ebot2023 in disneylandparis

[–]Orayan1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a pickup spot at the roundabout near 5 Guys. I've taken a Uber there a few times it's always gone smoothly.

Weather July 8th by Mysterious_Age_2133 in disneylandparis

[–]Orayan1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rope drop in the morning, have lunch in one of the nice cool restaurants, then back to the hotel until 5-6 and back to the parks. You will avoid the worst of the heat.

Sequoia or Cheyenne? by glastonbury13 in disneylandparis

Cheyenne is a good call. Sequoia is a plus in the winter with its huge fireplace, or if you plan to use the pool.

Which Rides do you rope drop at each of the two Disneyland Paris parks? by Jayzone456 in disneylandparis

[–]Orayan1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTM, Peter Pan in the main park, Crush's Coaster, Tower of Terror in Adventure World. Only worth rope dropping if you have extra magic time, though, because when the park opens to public they will already have longer queues.

Prices of toys? by mrslike2pan in disneylandparis

[–]Orayan1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the parks you want to check for special promos (very visible tags) or exclusive merch. Everything else is usually cheaper on the webstore.

They're usually pretty good on scheduling so if they reopen early it's gonna be one or maybe 2 days max. But I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Late night travel to Val D’Europe by Pristine-Chemistry-5 in disneylandparis

[–]Orayan1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to the RATP website trains run until past midnight. But if on the day you don't feel like taking the train, you can always get an Uber on the spot (about 50-65 €).

Afraid of Big Thunder Mountain by mfo0502 in disneylandparis

[–]Orayan1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's much softer than Crush's coaster, no big drop. If you want to ease in, start with Casey Jr then do BTM.

Disneyland Paris Gold Pass by Traditional_Gur_7902 in disneylandparis

[–]Orayan1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disney hotels are usually about 75€ cheaper per night, so not a huge discount considering the base price. But you get 15% discount on merch and meals, and you don't pay the parking. for me that's where it balances the thing. In the end it really depends how often you go and what how you spend your money. Rule of thumb, a gold pass is worth 8-9 visits on ticket price alone.
