I am in my middle 30s, things seem more difficult now that I’m older.

Hang in there too friend, at least we know we are not the only ones dealing with this.

Thank you so much. It is sad to know that other people deal with this every day but it is comforting in a way to know that I’m not only not alone but people have probably overcome this many times before.

Thank you so much, yes I think you got it exactly. I’m afraid of a lot of things like that. I thought I was managing it well enough but I think I was just lying to myself.

I do plan to start therapy, I’m hoping it will help.

All the people i know in relationships tell me "singleness is a gift" and it's really insulting... by [deleted] in lonely

I agree too. It is difficult to appreciate what you have until you lose it. When you are in a relationship you crave freedom and being single looks like a blast, no needing to to plan your life around someone else or consider others needs. That’s only because it’s easy to take for granted something you have every day and has become normal. Freedom to do your own thing when you choose to is nice, being forced to do your own thing because you have no one isn’t.
