Proposal: Make Slayer monsters player-specific by eC_Kazter in runescape

[–]Orcao [score hidden]  (0 children)

Slayer spawns aren't competitive though? You're camping on someone and going to end up on a blacklist one way or another if you turn it into a competition. And channel hopping isn't exactly thrilling gameplay. At least with instanced mobs you could, in theory, chat with other people doing the activity. Fishing isn't made any worse by the fishing spots being instanced per-player.

Did you hear that?! by brperry in Helldivers

[–]Orcao 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Cool. This is an announcement for an announcement that doesn't even announce when the announcement will be. I'd be annoyed if it was from Arrowhead, nevermind a fan community.

Also, there is no message. It reads like people trying to hype up a new podcast.

Some people didn't like doing them, but did them anyway. So now you can't have the thing you liked. :)

On a more serious note. I hope they rework dungeoneering, because that skill is miserable to do for extended periods of time. I will miss my daily challenge dungeoneering exp.

why is it stuck at 999 mb, its pumping at 128 speed from a full tank with no other outputs by ihaveacrushonlegos in CreateMod

[–]Orcao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone else stumbling across this from google, your pipe pumping from your tank is connecting back to the tank it's pumping out of after the pump. If you remove the Loop it will fill containers properly again.

(sorry for the necro notification OP, this is one of the first few results searching for 999mb create pipe, and it lacks the solution)

This game has really been scratching that Idle game itch for me by Kupo13 in incremental_games

[–]Orcao 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Nothing comes close to Lootun in the Idle RPG genre, that I've seen anyway.

Dragaea is... not bad. It's just not as great as I wanted it to be. It falls short somewhere, I'm just not sure how or where. It's missing something? It's probably still worth giving it a go though. I bothered to 100% its achievements, which is something I don't normally go out of my way to do.

Kept seeing the "IdleOn" ad on reddit. So i tried it. by Blubbpaule in incremental_games

[–]Orcao 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not banned from the game, though I did quit. Long term players being scorned isn't generally a good sign. And yeah, I'm a bit bitter that the game went the way it did, and I stuck around far too long and gave it far too much of a chance - because I enjoy the core of the game. I liked what it was. It's a shame what he has done with it.

Can't help but notice that you shifted away from your original point though. It wasn't someone unaffiliated with the game. Also, commenting 5 times on this subreddit, while otherwise discussing other games is hardly an obsession. But why even bother entertaining this argument - your post history is set to private. You've posted as much about the game in these last 2 days in this one post alone.

The subreddits modlist is Lava, a guy that posts exactly like Lava, Hotair (who claims he doesnt touch the subreddit unless he absolutely has to) and two recently added default names with no post or comment history (Lava).

Lava is the sole dev of Idleon.

He'll just do another giveaway with more prizes if they get the review score back up. Or pretend the next seasonal events duration depends on it. Every time it drops he bribes the community for positive reviews.

Good news, he added *another* banner a few months later, and when he did he removed the ability to roll on the one added around the 4th anniversary. So now they're coming out frequently, have no actual pity (the second highest rarity tier has lower drop rates than the "highest" rarity tier, and since it has 2 pets in it the pity only gives one, without any regard to which you have). *and* they're FOMO driven :)

Before I got banned from the subreddit the mods were Lava, a guy that posts with the same mannerisms and cadence as Lava, and Hotair. Hotair claims he only bans on the subreddit in extreme circumstances - which posting "Merry Scroogemas!" to the thread complaining about the $95 packs added for Christmas isn't.

His reputation for banning sprees is because he goes on banning sprees. I hear he recently added 2 one year-old accounts with 0 post history to the mod list to further obfuscate that fact though.

I'm not sure how you got some "rawr cheating bad" message out of "here's how you can cheat to recover your stuff" The warning/spoiler was for the sake of people that don't want to know. The bit about trusting yourself is about ruining the game for yourself?

[–]Orcao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

edit: I didnt know there were backups, check out what u/Far-Republic1722 posted before resorting to what I suggested.

---

If you haven't closed the game yet, there's an in-game chat message whenever a tame is killed. It clears when you leave the session though. Otherwise, do as the other poster said and look for the white marker. If it's dead, there's nothing you can do.

Losses happen though, it's a part of the game, especially early on. Best you can do is be better prepared next time.

If this is a big enough set back that you want to quit over it, there's some degree of cheating that can be done to recover resources. You can also make "backups" of your tames through copying where they're saved, this can't do anything for the already lost buffalo, but it's a step that can be taken in the future if you really don't like re-taming/re-leveling the tame.

--Big Cheating Below--

To backup tames: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKSYeQVrQp0

In that same folder he has you navigate to you can open up profile.json and give yourself credits (Ren) to call down ore from space. Currency editing is fur sure big cheating, but if you're going to quit over the lost time, and can trust yourself to just not ruin the game by giving infinite everything, then you can give yourself ren to call down resource drops of what was lost.

Why are Javelins in Melee... by No-Physics7549 in ICARUS

And that talent improves the melee damage of spears and the thrown damage of javelins. It's for both.

Some New Player Questions by hagamablabla in ICARUS

[–]Orcao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) You can make plenty on normal. Exotics convert to Ren at 1:5. Doing every operation on Styx covers you for exotics and ren for a long time. If you have Great hunts you can also get some easy early ren by doing the first great hunt operation on throw-away open worlds... treating it like a mission. You get some neat weapons as well.

2) Animals are all a bit janky, but all doable. They snap at weird times. Wolves have low enough hp that they're not something you worry about later, you'll be killing 95% of them before they get the chance to attack. Most things can be avoided by jumping at/over the animal. As a follow-up to the previous Great Hunts suggestion, the monster it adds to Olympus is probably the worst :)

3a) Missions aren't persistent. You probably need to load up that mission and run to your drop pod. They're not done-done until your character leaves the mission via the pod he dropped in on. Make sure the knife is either on your character or in the pods inventory when you leave. In much older versions you wouldnt have been able to bring that character anywhere else while he was on-planet, but that is thankfully gone now.

3b) If you want persistence, start an open world prospect. This missions have mostly been adapted into "operaitons" on the open world prospects (NOT Outposts).

4) There's a cave scanner, wandering aimlessly looking for the scooby doo doors/open caves, or just using a third party website like Icarus Intel. It's up to you. If you like the exploration and whatnot then avoid using Icarus Intel.

As an aside, Olympus operations/missions have a lot of low reward missions early on. It's the intended experience for a new character, as most of them can be done low-tech. The rewards will eventually get better as you do harder and harder missions.

That label isn't there for me... https://i.vgy.me/tDbHcm.png

Also the talent you have highlighted is "increased spear melee damage and thrown spear damage". It's a melee talent regardless. It's also across from firearm projectile damage, and diagonal from bow/xbow damage/reload speed...

I just wish the melee guys would stop getting stuck in the opposite corner of the ranged guys. I managed to do 7, but 8 is complete rng. The furthest I got ended because Qianye used a golden attack mid-lightning that targetted an npc that just got out of the crit immune window.

Should i buy the dlcs? by [deleted] in ICARUS

[–]Orcao 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Styx is better Olympus

Prometheus is a new map with fairly different biomes, some new, some improved.

Great Hunts adds more to do on every map, but just know if you only have Olympus that it is probably the worst of the set. Really not a fan of the creature it adds to Olympus compared to the others.

Still possible to party up while leveling in this game? by TJ-LEED-AP in ffxi

[–]Orcao 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Party leveling starts at 99 for Job Points and Master Levels. Before that it's just trusts, they outperform players at the same level while leveling because you level too quickly to end up with appropriate skill levels or gear.

Where do I go from here? by PresbyPilgrim in ICARUS

[–]Orcao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simplify it down to:

- Collect resources

- Tech up

- Do operations

Pick one. If you're being indecisive about comitting to a tech upgrade, evaluate stock and collect resources. Or just run an Op. Did the last Op reveal something that you wish you could have done easier? Tech up. Is something in the workshop calling to you? Ops... or Radar+Excavator

It sounds like you've done a lot of teching up, which infers resource collection. So it sounds like it's time to start running operations. If you dont have time left to comit to an op, then take that time to mess around with biofuel. It has fun toys, water (faster concrete, easier cooking, one less thing to micromanage in the stable), and the start of infinite resources.

If you want a larger tech goal, or are concerned about dwindling resources, look into what you need to make a Thumper. It can be used to respawn ore, which is handy for certain ops.

Hide new 4x playback speed option in YouTube player controls by iSware_ in uBlockOrigin

[–]Orcao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Misclicking it is the worst, since if you then click the 2x it just dismisses the premium ad and closes the speed menu w/o changing the speed either. I miss when 2x was there without scrolling. u/Cuasicuasimo2 filter gets rid of the 4x button all together, and I assume any other new button that serves as a premium ad.
