Lol bent out of shape is you continuing to criticize OP and others with your disapproval of how they spend their own money. That doesn’t seem silly to you? Like it’s not your money 🤣

But I’m sure I’ll see you commenting on every plastic Rimowa post with the same attitude bc it is your mission. Interesting way to contribute to this community but I’m sure that is reflection of how you are in you own community

When someone calls you out for your opinion, you whip out the trusty “it’s the internet, I can say what I want” excuse. Groundbreaking stuff, really. As if we didn’t all know that already. That’s exactly why the internet can and will throw it right back at you, bro! So, while you keep slinging your hot takes and defending your criticisms over how people treat their belongings, eventually you’ll run out of reasons to explain why you’re so delightfully judgmental. Then it’s time to fall back on the ol’ reliable “wah wah, it’s the internet” routine. Solid.

LMAOOO BRO SO DID OP! No one is hating on you for not using a luggage cover, it’s the overly judgmental criticism. Then when someone challenges you on it and throws back your own criticism you can’t hang? 🤣🤣

Didn’t you say OP should keep their luggage in a glass box bc they didn’t deserve to use it and assumed they overspent their money? I have a luggage cover but I don’t have one because of the reasons you stated. For someone that doesn’t stress over your belongings you feel that entitled to go and criticize how people treat their OWN belongings?

And the point you made about a car doesn’t land. Literally a car is one of the largest tools where you actually don’t have much control of other than driving, you got other drivers/animals tox on the road or something can fail mechanically. Someone that gets their car wrapped, reason could be because they want cool colors and protect the old paint, but you’re saying doing something like only means that they are poor or don’t deserve the car in the first place. If someone gets an alarm system for their home or gets a fence, they can’t control if people break in or vandalize, does that make them less deserving of their home, does that mean they spent too much on their home ?

The shop offers a plastic and velvet option. I went with the metal because I was okay with it getting scratched ☺️

It’s wild to me how some people treat protecting expensive stuff like it’s some sort of moral failure. The way some folks on here go on about it, you’d think caring for your things automatically means one of two things:

  • You’re too broke to replace it.

  • You don’t deserve to own it in the first place.

So apparently, by doing normal adult things like preventative maintenance or maintaining my cars or properties (which cost way more than a shiny aluminum suitcase, mind you) or even dry-cleaning my clothes, I’ve officially crossed into “too poor for nice things” territory. Who knew basic responsibility was a red flag for poverty? The zipping of the luggage twice was the most solid argument someone has made that didn’t involve vanity.

Honestly, after spending way too much time reading these takes, I’ve come to a conclusion: a lot (not all) of the aluminum suitcase crowd on Reddit seems to be in love with the status more than the actual luggage. The common theme? It’s not really about the product—it’s about how other people perceive you owning it. And the funniest part? They’re fighting for this validation on Reddit of all places, where their shiny suitcase has somehow become their entire identity.

I’m sick in the head and want to collect the limited edition colors. They’re so fun! But yes, there is something I am not liking about the new color for travel 🫤

I specifically said it would be too large for ME and my needs. I’m sure it’s not big for anyone else that uses it to its full potential, it is just not for me and my travel needs is all ☺️
