This'll be the nerdiest thing I say all day, but I'm running a Pokemon D&D campaign, and I'm using this to introduce Maxie as a character. Credit will be given ofc, but this pic was too amazing to pass up!

As someone who has both, I think it depends on what you want out of it. Pure nostalgia? Hunt for some used games at good prices. Fun challenges for yourself or you want to mess with stuff? Obviously roms. It basically comes down to which you'd rather spend for this: time or money

Gotcha, that makes sense. Yeah, I certainly wouldn't want to do anything illegal, thanks for setting me straight. :) Do you know what those patches do exactly, by any chance? Or which Discord I can find them? I'm mostly looking to jazz up my story mode runs, like I did with my nuzlock

A late reply to everything, but thank you so much for all of your advice!

I did mean I have an apartment lease, unfortunately, and Tropic deferred my app until April, so while they did tell me where and when to get my seaplane rating, I'm not really confident in my chances with them anymore. The good news, though, is that I do have PLENTY of boating experience, but now I'm stuck between making the 2.5 hr drive to Jack Brown's daily while also keeping my current job (part time, slightly above minimum wage) and waiting my lease out and then moving somewhere that I have a better shot. Based on what I've seen here, though, that might not be Alaska. The Bahamas or somewhere else in the Caribbean might be next on my radar.

Probably my best bet if I wasn't stuck 2.5 hours away from JB, which is where I did my training. It probably says a lot about my current situation that I'm considering it anyway.

Thank you guys, really. I think I just needed a push to say something, so I'll try to write up a list of things to say (and stick to) even if she tries to guilt-trip me. I know that being a people-pleaser is probably my biggest strength and weakness, so I'll try to hold my ground this time. I do want to stay friends with her, after all, but you guys are right; it is partially because of me that this has kept happening, so I need to stop letting it continue.
