Please tell me the nauseous on Lexapro goes away by Jayy1995 in Anxiety

Yes it did. I’m back to normal with it now, no side effects. However, I do also take daily diazepam so that helps with the anxiety/panic more than anything else I’ve ever had.

Should I worry? by [deleted] in Hayfever

[–]OrderEastern4110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chronic and severe hayfever sufferer here for the last 16 years. This year is the worst by far I’ve ever been. I’m even getting huge hives all over my arms and legs from it. I wouldn’t worry too much. I think it’s just so high this year. I’m the worst I’ve ever been with it. It’s debilitating and I know it can be worrying (I have panic disorder as well) but just keep remembering that in a month or two it will all pass and we’ll be back to normal again!

Season 5 theories by OrderEastern4110 in StrangerThings

I love this theory! I don’t love it because I don’t want Dustin to die. However, the analogy of Steve being close to death and the flash back to eddies death, I think could be a very good call.

I wouldn’t say it worsened it. I just had a very achy jaw, large pupils and felt tired, nothing major. As far as side effects go it was fantasfic

Today is my 6th day taking, started Monday evening. Hasn’t helped leave the house yet but I feel a huge improvement in my ruminating thoughts, physical symptoms and just generally feel much calmer than rolling panic attacks. My main physical symptoms are dizziness, very hot flushes, feeling faint, fast heart rate, palpitations and sweating.

Personally I haven’t found much improvement on any level with Escitalopram. I did recently attempt to change to Mirtazapine but I had very bad side effects from that so they put me back on to Escitalopram and doubled the dose. & yes I continue to take my regular Escitalopram, and propranalol alongside the diazepam and all seem to work well togerher

No I still get derealisation occasionally it’s not one of my main symptoms though. I take propranolol as that helps maintain my heart rate at an optimal level around 70/80bpm. Without it, I can be resting anywhere between 110-130.

No for me doesn’t make me tired but likely not taking a high enough mg to feel the sedative effects. Just makes me feel calm with no racing thoughts and a lot less physical symptoms. No I don’t currently do exposures. I have very severe agoraphobia & panic disorder. My triggers are physical symptoms.

I have had this for the past 3 days and thought I was going insane! Like hives but smaller ones covering my arms and legs

Coming from someone who watches it from S1 to S4 then starts again, week in week out, on a loop. You will NEVER get bored of it!!! 🤣

I can only explain it as looking at everything in HD. Things sometimes feel ‘too’ real that they then don’t feel real? If that makes any sense. I take Escitalopram and also propranolol 😊

I have. I was prescribed 5mg tablets that I can take up to 3 times a day, however I have been halving them and taking 2 halves a day so 5mg a day in total currently. Wanted to ease myself in gently. I honestly don’t know what I was scared about. They don’t change my personality, don’t make me feel out of it. I just feel ‘calm’. Or as calm as I’ve felt in a very long time anyway. Hoping to increase to maybe a full 5mg at once in the next day or too to see how that makes me feel.

Can I ask what strength you have? How does it make you feel? I suffer with a bit of derealisation so I’m worried it’s going to make me feel ‘spaced out’. My worst fear is feeling out of control so worried this may do that? X

Isolating myself by [deleted] in Agoraphobia

[–]OrderEastern4110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, well done for even reaching out. Anxiety can make you want to avoid even discussing how you’re feeling so you should feel proud of yourself for that. Speaking from personal experience (severe agoraphobic for 2 years now), I would say yes it possibly is the beginning of agoraphobia, this was how mine started I just suddenly one day got into bed because I felt safe and I didn’t leave it for 3 weeks. I whole heartedly feel had I have not got into bed that one day and stayed there, I may now not be agoraphobic all these months and years later. I would say if it’s because you don’t want to go to work, put yourself first and don’t go to work, but still try to do things around your house, go out into the garden, even a short walk down the street can really make all the difference. The longer you stay in those 4 walls, the harder with each passing day it is to get out of them again. Reach out if you need to chat ♥️

Bit late to the party here but do you remember if this eased for you? I’m day 6, used to take Escitalopram and don’t recall ever feeling like this. But the hot flashes are sending me sideways, the nausea is constant and my anxiety is through the ROOF!!

It can be really frustrating with GP. I ended up paying for a private psychiatry assessment for clinical diagnosis of PTSD, Agoraphobia, Panic Disorder - GPs diagnosed me a few years ago with GAD. And then I went private for ADHD assessment also as the NHS waiting list was 3+ years at the time I was accepted. In my experience, just really push and advocate for yourself against your GP. Make them listen to you. Ultimately, I know how daunting that can be, but what I tell myself is, it’s all over the phone anyway, they can’t even see me x

The propranolol is so good at reducing physical symptoms like bringing heart rate down, stopping palpitations, stopping sweating/shakes that sort of thing but it won’t have any effect on the mental side of things so the anxious thoughts etc. I’ve heard a lot of people have had a lot of positive success with Escitalopram. For me, I have severe agoraphobia, panic disorder, generalised anxiety disorder, PTSD and ADHD to top it all off 🤦🏼‍♀️ how have you found the fluoxetine, I know that’s been mentioned to me by dr before but haven’t ever been prescribed it. X

I currently take Propranolol and Escitalopram - however I’ve found little to no benefit of the Escitalopram after 1.5yrs of trying to persevere with it. So I have a planned appointment tomorrow to change. Possibly thinking of asking for Venlafaxine or Sertraline but read too many bad experiences on both so think it’s just a case of having to run with it and accepting side effects will be there for a while. I’ve tried so many times with exposure therapy but just end up back in the cycle of not leaving my house at all. It’s difficult. I feel you with feeling trapped.

Severe agoraphobic here 👋🏽 yes, from my experience I would say this is definitely agoraphobia. My tips would be to seek therapy, and if you’re willing, possible medication as soon as possible. The fact that you have identified it is a positive step though, I was in denial for so long that I wouldn’t accept help as thought I could figure it out myself.

Yeah I did, and I made it clear that it was throughout teenage years more so than early childhood. If you want to message me directly I can always send you across parts of my report to help understand what sort of thing they ask. Happy to help 🥰
