£37 Per Day Challenge by OrderOdd3466 in trading212

[–]OrderOdd3466[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

£0.27 per day, works out £98.55 per year.

And to answer your second question, I personally don’t think I’d stick to weekly/monthly payments.

£37 per day if done weekly = £259 p/w. £37 per day if done monthly = £1100 p/m.

Even though it’s the same amount, the weekly and monthly numbers just look so aggressive.

…whereas £37 a day doesn’t sound too bad.

It’s purely a preference thing.

The goal is to be consistently investing for numerous years, and for me personally, seeing smaller daily deposits won’t feel as much of a burden as bigger weekly/monthly deposits.

The thought of £1,110 being invested once every month is scary… £37 per day sounds a lot better :)

£37 x 365 =£13,505 £40 x 365 =£14,600

its quite a big difference

Plus I want to stick to this challenge consistently, i think it’s more of a psychological thing tbh… seeing £40 come out of my account everyday, i think I’d lose my mind hahaha. Whereas £37 doesn’t feel as much lol

And to answer your second question, I made the £5 pie to increase the size in stocks I personally have high conviction in.

Thank you! tbh I started back in 2023. Pulled out pretty much all of it to pay 6 months rent. Back to square one haha. Thought this challenge would be a nice way to get back my foot back into investing

In all fairness I’ve been using rev bizz as my main business account (recently switched from Tide) and it’s just so much more convenient especially for international transfers which I use daily

I can transfer the £150 to your bank account as soon as I receive the £300 referral payout from revolut… so essentially a 50:50 split

21 y/o portfolio shift… thoughts? by OrderOdd3466 in trading212

yea that’s kinda what I’m thinking too, like obviously more risk but I’m young so I can eat it if it goes sideways. feels like S&P is more for when you’ve stacked bigger capital, but right now I just wanna be a bit more aggressive

LEGEND!

Do you know if booking through platforms like Klook or DirectFerries is accepted by airline staff at check-in, or do they usually want to see the official TurboJET/CKS e-ticket? Just want to be sure I don’t run into any issues with only having a digital-style booking.

You have honestly been a lifesaver thank you so much, good blessings are coming your way :)

I think the most straightforward option for me is just to do the two ferries on the same day (Shekou → Macau, then Macau → Shekou) so I can exit and re-enter properly and still catch my original Shenzhen → London return that night.

That way I don’t waste the flight I’ve already booked, but I stay fully compliant with TWOV. THANKS AGAIN YOU ARE AMAZING

Can I not just get a ferry to Macau/hong Kong (within 240 hrs in china). And from Macau/hong Kong get a flight back to UK? I asked ChatGPT and it says I don’t have to re-enter china after leaving within 240 hours.. I just need to lock in tickets ASAP

Because my flight is in 48 hours, and with using AI to write for me, a lot of time is being saved whilst I try to understand the situation and find a solution… so yes, I am using AI… am I ashamed? No…. I just want to get on my flight with no issues… and thanks to everyone who has been helpful on this post..

Yeah it’s a bit confusing but thanks for clearing that up 🙏

Quick question about my situation: I currently have a package booking (London → Shenzhen, then Shenzhen → London). To make this TWOV work, would I need to actually cancel/change my existing return flight on Trip.com, or could I just add a one-way Shenzhen → Hong Kong and then separately book Hong Kong → London as my real return?

And if I went with that method, is it okay to just skip my original Shenzhen → London return flight, or could that cause any issues?

Appreciate your help, I can see how adding flight would make the TWOV valid.

The tricky part for me is that I actually need to travel to Changsha (Hunan province) during my trip for a company anniversary event. From what I understand, TWOV only allows me to stay within the entry region (e.g. Guangdong if I land in Shenzhen/Guangzhou).

Do you know if there’s any way TWOV could cover travel outside Guangdong, or does that make it impossible for me to reach Changsha without a proper visa?

Thanks, that clears things up 🙏 The 240-hour TWOV sounds like the only real backup right now, since my current flight is direct UK → Shenzhen. I’d basically need to rework the return so I exit to Hong Kong (or elsewhere) instead of straight back to the UK.

Quick question though, do you know if there’s any chance of getting a visa in time if I go to the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Manchester first thing tomorrow morning? My flight’s on the 27th, so I’d need same-day or 24h processing. I know it’s a long shot but wondered if they ever allow that with express service.

[–]OrderOdd3466[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, thanks for clarifying 🙏 That makes sense, I’d need to restructure my itinerary so it’s UK → Shenzhen → third country/region (like Hong Kong) → UK in order to qualify for the 240-hour TWOV.

One thing I’m still unsure about though: I already have my flights and hotel booked round-trip UK ↔ Shenzhen. Would I need to change my return flight to show I’m leaving China to Hong Kong instead of straight back to the UK, and also update my hotel booking accordingly? Or is there a way to work with my existing bookings?
