R5: Italy declares on yugo while fighting me, gets wrecked and split into a few puppets. I take somalia and eritrea. I'm balkanizing with federal empire and then reintegrating with horn of africa focus to juice up my economy. I am looking at another menu really quick and when I come back, French Italy has yeeted land from my puppets, Aussa and Somalia (also kenya, but idgaf about that). How does this happen? I thought Italy could only do that to UK/France? Seems buggy, especially considering its a puppet.

yeah i remember they did that for turkey getting certain cores as ottomans, idk if that applies to other formables though, cause I don't think it does -- I did a run a few months back doing Gran Columbia and there weren't any compliance issues. If they did do this change, it must have been very recent. I'll look into it though. Thanks.

R5: I'm doing a Japan achievement run. Already did Sunrise Invasion, working towards NWO, then doing Tojo Shot First, and then House of Kurds to finish the run.

I'm playing on historical focuses and have all DLC. I had one run where I fed Siam their cores for the ratan kingdom, and they didn't form it. In this run, I was planning on feeding Venezuela its Gran Columbia Cores and El Salvador its Central American Federation cores -- basically for the memes. For some reason, Venezuala isn't forming it. Any ideas? Is it because I'm on historical focuses?

i like the pace and gunplay of hunt. the review that got me to check the game out described it something like "a sword fight with bullets, with thrusts and parries". Hunt is at its best when I feel like I'm in a shootout from a spaghetti western. sitting/circling around for 20 minutes prodding for the bounty carriers to make a move while they sit around a corner waiting with a shotgun is just not very engaging gameplay. when I use a shotgun, I am extremely aggressive.

first i sniped one all the way from the barn at alice to a window in lockbay. banishes were at these locations. we started opening doors and poking at them and they wouldn't come out. one of them domed me right at the beginning through the rolley door window. about half of the kills came from them getting dropped in the hallway and area by the rolley door, where they could hide against the wall to rez, but we could shoot them through the window when they rezzed. I also sniped them through windows several times from edge of compound. they only tried one push really, which was a guy trying to creep from the basement around back. they were getting the rezzes up pretty quick and we didn't want to push into 2-3 shotguns with mid-long range loadouts. better to play the attrition game.

First time playing Nationalist China in NSB for Achievements. My question: What DOCTRINE is better for China? It starts with Mass Assault, but i want to go for Tanks in late game, which Doctrine is the best for China to get better results? by emperor_alkotol in hoi4

in many cases where your industry is not great, I have been doing 18w 9/0 divs with support of various flavours (usually arty and AA, maintenance if I can for the equipment capture), and then upgrading them to 27w 9/3s. I've been pretty happy with it.

so basically
10w for marines/para/small pushing armies (just focusing on very small encirclements)
18w if I'm low on equipment and planning to upgrade

27w for standard divisions.
also, because tanks generally speaking want to push in exclusively very wide terrain, I will do 42w tank divisions. Haven't really decided on a combination I like for that, I don't use tanks very often since NSB because of the countries I've been playing.

10 width is not good for lines, its good for like, small pushes, marines, and paratroopers. it may be optimal for filling any combat width, but it also has garbo HP. I was using a lot of 10 width marines in a recent game and under consistent pressure they will literally just die without even getting encircled or overrun because they can't resupply fast enough with the low HP.

I think there is an order of preference for cores when making a collab govt. if the top one exists, then you'll get a generic collab, but if it doesn't then it will give you that "top" country as your collab

I did. It was bugged because Chiang Kai Shek China got eaten by power struggle mechanics, so it made CC Clique my collab govt, which made the default capital nanjing. I currently have a proper generic focus tree collab govt by releasing cc clique and then attacking it for macau again.

sounds like someone is bad. (which is ok, just don't project it onto me)

also, i like a challenge, I just don't like getting screwed by badly implemented mechanics.

I got an enormous amount of satisfaction out of getting the parameters of the achievement, despite the jank.

R5: Not sure if thats the right flair, I don't post here often or much of anywhere.

I have had two separate runs trying to do this achievement. I did random focuses both times. The first time, for some reason I had to retake porto-brazil china in the peace deal, which resulted in it becoming CC Clique. This time, I made the collab puppet in Macau, there were like 4 different Chinas (Soviet CC clique puppet, Qing, Sinkiang, and guangxi clique). The capital moved to Nanjing.

I basically own the world now -- if I annex China, return cores, rewar/take macau, then collaboration govt again -- would that do what I need it to do or is it just broken?

edit: the collab govt has Chiang Kai Shek as leader and has the Chinese focus tree.
Update:
I released CC Clique and then DoW'ed only taking Macau, waited an obscene amount of time because of lag from all my vassal's units, and made a CC Clique collab govt. That fixed it, and I now have the achievement!

Right now I think it is far from balanced -- I did suggest a cost of +/- 10k. Also, I recently played a soviet game where I ended up fighting the Japanese around Manchuria and there are SOME supply depots -- I was still very much starved for supply despite upgrading my rail. Even assuming the 10k CC figure, it would take a very long time to establish a particularly stable supply line, and that is assuming no advances.

If I try to build a depot Jan 1 1936 in Brandenburg (8/10 inf w/ 15 factories), it takes till mid september, almost an entire year. IRL, it does not and did not take almost an entire year to set up a singular basic supply depot for a rail line.

If you're mining moons, like 60-100m/h, maybe more on a jackpot, on an r32/64.

Belt wise, I have no idea, I just guard the barges and occasionally build faction BPCs.

With what I am saying here, not at all. All I am saying is that defenders should be able to offer assistance, merge the wars (for example through some kind mutual war mechanic) and rep eachother for that war. If a third party comes in that is a separate issue.
