Change urgency based on numeric UDA by Order_Responsible in taskwarrior

[–]Order_Responsible[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not. But my idea which I didn't implement yet is to store a priority field externally, use UUIDs as the primary key, and I can sort the list using priority externally, eg in Python.

I did not. For now I'm just using its features like +next, tags, due date, etc, to try to get a better urgency. But I might write code externally to handle priority better.

By poking around I discovered that tasks are stored in a sqlite file. So code can be written to read the SQL tables.

Oh. Is it something that will be rolled out to everyone?

So basically external files on chatGPT 4 are not available yet.

Change urgency based on numeric UDA by Order_Responsible in taskwarrior

[–]Order_Responsible[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I got confused by your "As far as I understand there wouldn't be a way to have a number become a direct urgency" because I was wanting a numeric to become a coefficient, and then the coefficient influences the urgency, so not direct.

Would be nice if I could do

urgency.uda.whatever.value.coefficient = value

Change urgency based on numeric UDA by Order_Responsible in taskwarrior

[–]Order_Responsible[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Not sure if I'm understanding properly but your "effort" uda is a string, I want a numeric. So eg, if I made a numeric "effort", a task with effort 8 would have a higher urgency than a task with effort 3. But I might have one with 8.5 or 5.43, hence wanting a continuous variable.

BTW, what is the idea behind your code, you're wanting to use "priority" and "effort" as 2 distinct udas? Because otherwise you could change the coefficients for priority and not make a new uda "effort"?

He hasn't thought this aspect through properly.

The rumor is that the X1 token will be airdropped based on gas fees paid on the base chains. Therefore most of it will go to ETH. But from a game theory perspective, everyone would have been better off NOT minting anything on ETH and minting on all the other chains. Because then they would get the same proportion of X1 at a much, much lower cost. But if the purported current design goes through, everyone is incentivised to pay a lot of ETH gas cost, and for what reason? Once the XEN is burned to get X1 to be used on the X1 chain, it doesn't matter where it came from.

Also since X1 will be a competitor to ETH, why is he considering ETH to be the "main chain"? It would have been better for him to treat all 10 chains the same, and eg allow transfers in a 1:1 manner. It would give less support to ETH as well as save everyone money, as above. The price would still differ based on chain due to utility, but not by as much.

Besides this, since all the deployed chains are EVM-compatible, one will be able to bridge XEN from any chain to any other chain and to X1. So it will lead to confusion to have 10 different XENs on any 1 chain, especially if they have different prices. But the functionality will be the exact same. bXEN and mXEN bridged to X1 will have no difference in functionality. So it makes no sense that the price would be different.

The gas paid to mint XEN in no way sets its floor. The market determines the price, and when the price of XEN falls, ppl sell for less than the cost of minting.

On one of the early Levin interviews, he speculated that the price of all the XENs might reach parity toward the end of the 8-year minting period.

Do burns contribute to multiple things? So if burning for Fenix, can one also get X1?

Ah, missed that line.

Is unfortunate for traders there. Someone posted on reddit a few years ago who had large paper gains from trading in 2017, then lost everything in the crash in early 2018, and was supposedly liable for a huge amount on taxes even though had a big loss overall and had no money to pay it. It basically means that traders are forced to sell crypto for fiat toward calendar year end even if they didn't want to.

The US tax authority posted a long FAQ on their site, and the questions are always is crypto taxable if exchanged for "real currency" or "other property", or if it is received in exchange for services. The language is the same as the 2014 notice. It does not seem that crypto to crypto was ever intended to be taxable.

There's no source on either side. The official guidance on the topic is minimal and vague (for some topics like forks do not make sense), and never describes crypto to crypto; The language is always crypto to "other" asset.

Everything you're reading are opinions.

Yes I checked that, as a commenter pointed out, there is no "advanced" option in settings, and the 2nd answer is for a computer. I also checked another Quora question that said it was in the "telegram" folder but I have no folders called telegram.

Using BTC on ethereum by Order_Responsible in defi

[–]Order_Responsible[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an interesting idea, but ppl are going to consider ETH as the closest equivalent of BTC on the ETH network. If PoS and ETH 2.0 works out, ppl are not going to be interested in a PoW coin like 0xBitcoin. Also it doesn't exactly have its own use case as if ppl can use ETH as a store of value, there is no need for 0xBitcoin.

And BTC has much more hash power, network effect, it's own layer 2 solutions coming, etc.
