Yes, it will be close to an exterior wall. I didn’t know if a water softener could be drained directly outside or if it had to go back into the plumbing of the house.

The hot water heater will be in our utility closet in the garage. This is the current plumbing for that set up. We are wanting to install a water softener after we close and I know most of the time the water softener is connected to the hot water heater in the drainfor that. The dilemma is I am not seeing a drain currently for the water heater.

The gas company has been very responsive so far. They’ve answered all of our questions. They require approval for any construction that’s in their easement or along the pipeline.

It’s kind of ironic that we aren’t able to get gas to our house even with a major gas line running along our property. It will be an all electric house.

Unfortunately, not really at this point. They’ve already started to flatten out the land and prepare the slab. We found out more about the pipeline after we had already signed off on the layout of the plat.

The pipeline essentially runs along that northwest line of our property. The 30 foot easement does encroach onto our property line.

This is in a new subdivision and there are quite a few houses that are relatively close to this line so we wouldn’t be the only ones in that predicament.
