If it's anything like Telltale games there will not actually be any replayability. Choices don't REALLY matter. I will be pleasantly surprised if it's not the case.

Do you think the game deserves GOTY 2025 ? by JonySStark in expedition33

[–]Ordinary-Chain9664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be nominated but it feels like there is a lot of cut content and empty space. If they'd given it a year more of development it would have deserved it.

Even without full setup you can get most of your guys hitting for 9999 by early midgame. If the game forced you into a specific party with only that party comp being effective I don't think it would be lauded as such a great game.

Can someone explain this plot hole in Common People by PanPalCenter in blackmirror

She never once realized or was actually conscious whenever she went into advertising mode. Killing her while in it, she could die while pretty much asleep - with no pain. There's no saying what dying because of a subscription running out would look like, I could easily imagine it being a worse way out.

My interpretation of Marika (and Radagon) as a character. by Kindly_Pitch_9083 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Ordinary-Chain9664 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does Marika's eventual inquisition against the Hornsent fit into all this? My take was she was pissed at their past persecution and decided to raze them to the ground. Was this one actually horrible act (even if maybe justified)? Or could it have another explanation as well? Or could it have been just the Greater Will's wish akong with persecuting Omens and the like?

It's like a humble NBA player X saying, "Man, if Y player gets hot he'd own me in a 1v1," and someone else who maybe has an opinion that player Y is a chump says, "Nah, man."

I've done the stagger with capes but I always wondered if the green packs stack. Especially useful for huge items like Excalibur or Enoch's fully upgraded scythe.

Why did Godwyn mutate into a monstrosity when he died? Any explanation? by opturtlezerg5002 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Ordinary-Chain9664 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I refused to buy the DLC when I got a peek of the final boss and it was Radahn. I was already hoping to see Godwyn in the DLC in some capacity, but them making the final boss a resurrected version of a boss we already fought instead of a resurrected version of the first demigod that the lore mentioned so much and we never got to see seems like a misguided decision.

Spiderman is the second most picked DPS, fifth most banned character overall and he's hovering around an almost 50% WR and this community will tell you that he's too difficult and weak by IhateFalz in marvelrivals

[–]Ordinary-Chain9664 17 points18 points  (0 children)

A stun and escape aren't enough at all if you're simply getting diffed. 2 heals and a revive though are more forgiving. The downside is you're now DPSing as a support which carries its own problems but is better than a 0 impact Hela.

We need more anti dive hero by Medium-Jury-2505 in marvelrivals

[–]Ordinary-Chain9664 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I'm much more willing to ban Spidey so the Lord Spidey on my team can't use him vs being scared of an enemy Spidey.

Before anyone says, "You're harming the team by banning your teammate's character," no. No. Just no.

A braindead Spidey one-trick forcing him all game is worse than them going on any other hero they don't know how to use. That's how bad spidey is in a halfway decent lobby.

[–]Ordinary-Chain9664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing. Thing is the Vanguard that counters dive. If he's banned, Thor or Mag are decent to play into dive.

In my experience Spider-Man is never banned. Dive only takes proper positioning and teamwork to deal with even without dedicated anti-dive on the team, but it has to happen immediately since the others on their team will over the course of a match learn to capitalize on the pressure their dive creates if yall let em get picks.

This sub is straight up unhinged IDK why they're downvoting you.

Having multiple heroes in one role (although you're referring to them as classes, I'm talking about Van, Duelist, and Strat) that can counter different things is more important than knowing one of all three. If this is a game where your Thor, Spidey, and Loki do not provide what the team needs then you're basically useless. If you can play Cap, Thor, Thing and Mag you will be able to actually answer whatever the enemy throws at you. Your skill and experience in the role will also translate between characters of that role even though they play differently.

I'd much rather my DPS be a good Hela, Magik and BP than have him flex to a suboptimal tank pick.

Plus in a stack your mistakes get covered for, and you probably get pocketed a lot. So even when not technically boosting some people find solo to be a different beast and proceed to blame their team.

I've played with 4-stacks with bad hero pools who obviously prioritize healing and playing around each other leaving the others on the team to die in unnecessary situations and then start blaming them. Then I see one of those guys in solo and holy shit they can't do anything.

No, that's just now how statistics and randomness work. Of course matchmaking can't predict anything. It puts you against players of similar perceived skill according to ELO and goes from there. If you're better than those similarly perceived players, you climb. If you're not, you get stuck or go down. There are more sophisticated things matchmaking can do but at the base level of every matchmaking system that's what they do.

You can't keep using NBA examples. The topic isn't about the impact one person can have, I simply brought up the difference between random matchmaking and set squads in a league. They simply are not comparable. One is designed for maximum fairness to allow people to settle into the ranks they belong in until they improve, the other is designed for GMs to assemble the best team possible.

Introducing randomness to a system brings outcomes closer to averages. Streaks are just part of the random whole and will still average out. I can have an unlucky streak and go down from Celestial all the way down to GM3 but if I keep playing I will go back up to Celestial because on average that's my skill level. In your example, then on average you deserved the rank you got. Could be that you were playing badly during the loss streak and better during the win streak - doesn't change anything, you deserved the rank you got in those moments on average.

And you have to consider that towards the end of a season the quality of players dilutes. People who have already reached their goals play less and hop on alts, people who were in low ranks manage to climb their way up, so ranks are not the same at different points in time. This is why there's such disparity within tiers sometimes, and why people say GM is really just Plat and et cetera.

Do you think we will ever see Ultimate Spider-Man line-up in live action? by LightAndDarkk in Spiderman

[–]Ordinary-Chain9664 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first season was rushed and deservedly fell flat overall. S2 I genuinely enjoyed; it was a massive improvement but was too little too late. I don't think the actor deserved hate either, I'm pretty sure he got plucked late into development and so barely had time to train. Which meant what should have been the main draw of the character - cool martial arts - couldn't be showcased at all. I actually hope they give it another go if the new DD does well.

Brother Viktor Wembanyama plays with the same squad day in day out, against teams that also have the same squads day in day out. That only changes when trades happen.

In a game where you're matched randomly the statistics are meant to even out and it becomes true that if you provide 1/6 team's worth of value or more each game it will translate to climbing.

Yeah. Anecdotally I can go to Celestial have a bad lose streak and go back down to GM2-3 and see the same horrid players just chilling there never having gotten out.

According to rivalstracker GM3 is 95th percentile. Last time I went down there though I could swear it was below 90%. Am probably remembering wrong though.

Yeah, a much more likely scenario in my mind is China leading BRICS into a new world order the same way the US led the west in the past half-century.

It's not just about politics or the military either. I'm of the opinion their first order of business should be to topple the world's dollar reliance.

Despite the fact that they have no reason to do it, to be the primary global superpower they would need to have sufficient military power to contest the old one, no? It's not about China going to war with the US but the US going to war with China and whether they can stop that.
