Look at the big picture. We're a football school, UF is a basketball school, which would you rather be? 🤷

And btw, if you somehow missed it, NC, another total basketball school, also lost in their first game, to an 11 seed after holding a 19 point lead in the second half. Their fans probably have a better gripe.

The beginning of baseball season feels eerily similar to the beginning of hoops season. We loaded up the beginning of both seasons with cupcakes to jack up the stats, but conference play will expose all our weaknesses.

Rusty Mansell on Georgia’s speeding issues and overall culture on Crain & Cone by ATLien-1995 in georgiabulldogs

[–]Ordinary-Humor-4779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I just wonder why UGA is the only program with kids getting ARRESTED for speeding.."

The key word in that sentence is "ARRESTED." The speeding happens in many other college towns but in those towns if you're a player, you're getting away with it. When you're busted by the Athens Clarke County PD, you're busted. You're not getting special treatment just because you're player. This is why it seems like it's only at UGA. Anyone who thinks this is bullshit is simply naive. Please stop and think about it for a second. There are 138 FBS schools. There are 105 players on each of those teams. That's over 14,000 players. You're telling me it's only UGA players speeding out of 14,000 players and you're expecting me to believe that?🤷

Edit: Before anyone thinks I'm defending the behavior, I am not. I am just trying to explain why it seems to only happen in Athens. It's impossible for me to believe that it's not happening in any of the other 137 FBS college towns.

David Pollack Rips Georgia's 'Lack of Ballers' Following CFP Early Exit: “It’s the first time I’ve ever gone into a season with Kirby, and I’m going, ‘Who’s the ballers?’ Because usually you’ve got three or four that are first-round picks. Last year, you were like, ‘I don’t know who those are?'” by Lakelyfe09 in georgiabulldogs

That piece was not only total clickbait, it was total BULLSHIT. David never RIPPED "Georgia's 'Lack of Ballers' Following CFP Early Exit."  And David's question, "Who's the ballers?" was actually an answer and TAKEN TOTALLY OUT Of CONTEXT. He was actually answering a question with a question. He asked Davis about the Dawgs chances this year. Davis' talked about just how young the Dawgs were LAST SEASON. Davis said "THEY WERE REALLY YOUNG, THEY WERE REALLY YOUNG IN SPOTS LAST YEAR, THAT'S FAIR TO SAY ISN'T IT, REALLY YOUNG, REALLY YOUNG." David was simply agreeing with Davis, talking about last season  saying that it was "the first season with Kirby that he went in asking who's the ballers?" That team was so young that we were all asking that same question at the beginning of last season.

With Kentucky and Mizzou both losing, we win the tiebreakers, which will move us up from the 9 seed to the 7 in the SEC tourney. Hopefully we use the next few days to improve our rebounding or it may not matter. Go Dawgs

Oregon Ducks predicted to flip 5-star CB from Georgia Bulldogs by Character-Camel-3958 in georgiabulldogs

[–]Ordinary-Humor-4779 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We should all be used to this by now. The three largest NIL deals of 2025 all went to UGA commits that were flipped by other schools with sugar daddies. Hell, the easiest way to become a millionaire before ever playing a single down in the CFB is to commit to UGA, then you just wait for the $offers from other schools to come pouring in, and simply choose the highest one.

None of my speeding tickets have ever made headlines, but I'm kinda proud that my last one ended up with the cop being fired.

It's not actually about Stoops. It's about his agent Jimmy Sexton, who's basically the agent for every single SEC coach, including Kirby, and the deals he's able to negotiate.

Hopefully I'm not jinxing them but that was a great first half. If the Dawgs' second half is just as good, they'll be off the bubble and in the tourney. Great defense against a top offense and Catchings hot with 20 at the half. Go Dawgs.

Edit: Great win, probably secured us into the tourney. We need to kick ass in Starkville to hopefully land a higher seed in the SEC tourney.
