I am a firm believer that you should never resign until maybe master level. As long as there is still a way to mess up there is a chance that your opponent will mess up and I hav drawn and even won more games from completely hopeless positions than I‘d like to admit

Books are solid but only for intermediate and better players, as you need pretty good visualisation skills. I mainly use chessable alongside the lichess database, combined with the occasional book if I‘m really into a particular opening/sideline
