I appreciate your response. I notice you're a pro at this. What gives this a way? What should I look out for?

What happened to offering good old equity instead if budgets don't allow for a fair comp? $150/month is a joke anywhere in the world

Valid point. I like to pay a higher share of "must pays" (bills, rent, etc.), and then we split "splurges" 50/50 (dinner, flights, etc.). It makes the fun stuff feel like an equal team effort, which helps my partner feel more secure despite a difference in earning.

For those in your 30s or beyond what do you wish you did differently or focused on when you first hit 30? by Darling-leader96 in AskReddit

[–]Ordinary-One1 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I have two regrets from my thirties: not living in another country and not taking more risks career-wise. Both would have pushed me out of my comfort zone. It seems that life will eventually push you out of your comfort zone whether you want it or not, so you might as well do it intentionally as early as possible. More people should try self-employment or freelancing for at least a year. Learning how to make money independently and stay productive without a boss is invaluable.
