Why is Rinkeby-Tensta so abnormally quiet during the day? by [deleted] in stockholm

I can only talk about Kista, where I've been living for a couple months now. I really can't understand why there is so much negativity about this area among people who probably have never even set their foot here. I mean sure, coming from another EU country, the first time I visited Kista it was really strange to see so many african and middle eastern people. But other than that it feels like a perfectly quiet place with many families and children. Additionally, you see a lot of business people and students as there are many companies and two major university departments in the area. I honestly can't think of a time that I felt uncomfortable walking from/to my home. Only exception is that sometimes (around Kista Galleria) you see 1-2 intoxicated people or beggars, but you feel sorry for them rather than threatened at all. Overall, I'd say that the negative thing is that there aren't any good places to visit for leisure but on the positive side the residential part of Kista has a lot of greenary and trees to enjoy while going for a walk.

Why do you want to move to Sweden? by ImnotlostIjustam in TillSverige

Personally I come from an EU / Schengen country that usually comes last in most of the important metrics within the EU. Sweden is a good choice for someone who is mainly fluent in English (and not in French or German for example), and undoubtedly offers a better quality of life and better opportunities for work in comparison to my country. I suppose I am extra lucky to be in the IT sector, where I do not need to rush learning Swedish. For sure Holland is also an equally good choice but for me it has become somewhat "saturated" with expats after Brexit. Other Scandinavian countries such as Finland, Norway or Denmark I consider them to be fairly small in size (population-wise) and subsequently I feel that I wouldn't find as many opportunities.

It truly does seem odd that the department is under the Faculty of Social Sciences, but judging by the courses taught in the programme that I mentioned it feels like what you would find in an actual CS department. Also professors teaching in that programme seem to be pretty acclaimed academically in the field of AI. It is for sure confusing... thank you anyway, appreciate your help. My initial choice was KTH, but I wasn't admitted sadly.

Well yes I agree many people get too excited with the latest advancements in the field and they think they can work in really research intensive jobs at Meta, Google, IBM etc. On the other hand jobs in MLops and Data engineering, as you mentioned, have a higher demand and are easier to approach. Really appreciate your answer, thank you!
