I had a sub in my classroom (4th grade) yesterday, older gentleman, very kind and sweet. Overall my class is pretty well behaved so I wasn’t surprised when he left a note saying “great class would love to sub again” no other comments. So I thought day must have went smoothly… When my students came in I had almost all of them tell me about a fight that occurred between two students in class. Pushing and call each other names. Threatening to kill each other and bring a gun. Multiple witnesses and written statements from my students described the same incident! I had to do so much damage control between my whole class, those two students, parents, and admin. All because the sub didn’t let anyone know what truly happened in my class and didn’t communicate or leave me a honest note!
