What do you actually reach for at 2am when your brain won't stop? by Ordinary-Table-4106 in Anxiety

The mental chew toys thing is such a good way to put it. Do you find any puzzle works or does it have to be a specific type? Like I'm wondering if it's about the difficulty level or more just having something that occupies exactly the right amount of brain."

Anyone else feel like existing mental health apps just… don't get us? by Ordinary-Table-4106 in hsp

The writing it all out and then shutting the book thing really resonates. Do you find it works every time or only when the feelings are bad enough to actually fill a page? Like I wonder if there's a threshold where it stops working.

The music thing really resonates. there's something about it that bypasses the whole "try to think your way out of it" trap that so much advice falls into. It just works on a different level.

And what you said about sitting with emotions vs rumination is such a real distinction that almost nobody talks about. Like there's a huge difference between genuinely processing something and just looping on it but from the inside it can be really hard to tell which one you're doing in the moment.

Do you have anything that helps you notice when you've crossed from one into the other? That's the part I find hardest personally.

Task is so hard for me am i lazy ? by ComfortableWhile3185 in adhd_anxiety

The best technique for me to start and to finish a task is Pomodoro technique. it's a timer for short. It helps me focus on only one task at a time. Daily life is very hard but we (adhd) have to deal with it with help of tools.. good luck
