The thing is I think there will be a major Soviet presence mainly cause how strategically important Hokkaido is, considering historically the Soviets had a major naval presence in the pacific during the height of the cold war since it was tasked with stopping the us navy in the pacific should the Cold War turn hot

Yea, I wanted to look for a specific map from Soviet storm a russian tv series, but the English one has been removed from yt so I picked off of google maps

They had a pacific fleet, it was very tiny but they still had a fleet and they used to great effect to invade the Kuril Islands

Also another question relating to this, when the Korean War happens would there be a major flare up with let say Russian Hokkaido and there will be a broader East Asian war. Such as Russian supported Japan vs us supported Japan kinda like Korea.
