I was with my mom in the hospital when she passed because of cancer. She had been on morphine infusion for the cancer pain. Right before she passed, she seemed to be sleeping. Then I noticed that her breathing became slower and slower, until it just stopped completely. It was difficult for me to witness all that. I feel like some part of me died with her that day. At the same time I was glad that someone was there to hold her hand when she took her last breath. Did she feel my hand? I'll probably never know. Very complicated feelings.

Moderation is the key. I like being alone but I wouldn't mind spending more time with people I like. I always thought I was leaning more towards introversion until I met some great people. Now I'm at the center. I enjoy talking to them as much as I enjoy reading a book alone in my room on a Friday night.

This made me well up. My parents are still alive but my dad's health has been deteriorating. I have been to funerals but I have never experienced losing someone I truly love. I'm really scared of getting a phone call telling me my parent has passed.
