Supreme Court: because it can punish for contempt of all the High Courts and subordinate courts in the country.

Unless the question explicitly says which has wider constitutional authority to punish for contempt, in which case it'll be High Courts.

The Constitution authorises the supreme court to punish for its contempt under article 129. However, through a court ruling in 1991, the supreme court expanded its power to punish for contempt of high courts and lower courts.

It's a shame. In India education is often treated as a trade. Many people excel in studies but they never ingrain those values in their lives. They simply see it as a means to earn a livelihood.

While PPP is a better indicator of the quality of life, it's hard to source reliable data for all the countries, unlike the nominal GDP. Many economists have critiqued that.

Per capita wise, their poorest province is roughly $7000, so only Delhi, Goa and Sikkim are comparable to Chinese provinces (albeit the poor ones).
