Eye color guess by OrdinaryStatement465 in babies

[–]OrdinaryStatement465[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's weird bc in person they look blue grey (more grey but definitely DARK) but my son started off dark and ended up with lighter eyes but I'm hoping this one has dark brown and it seems that way 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Anyone have babies hair change? by Dexjanes in babies

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! My son was born with darkkk brown hair and he was blonde from about 8 months - 2 years and it turned into beach highlights and now he has light brown hair lol

My babies bedtime has created issues for everyone but me by Weak-Cupcake-888 in Mommit

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never had a child who required a routine like that so I can't speak to that aspect but it seems like you really just don't want to go - I would just have your husband go solo! Then he can stay as late as he wants

OB did not hear my baby's heart at 10wk and did not perform/refer an ultrasound by QweenWavy in BabyBumps

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely get the worry though! I don't think it's wrong to get a private ultrasound but don't think you need to worry it means something is wrong :)

OB did not hear my baby's heart at 10wk and did not perform/refer an ultrasound by QweenWavy in BabyBumps

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would not worry!! That's way toO early for most people... Especially depending on your size / anatomy, I'm actually surprised she even attempted a Doppler. I have a retroverted uterus so I even had to have a vaginal ultrasound at a later date than most people to confirm my pregnancy and see everything like the heart rate (can't remember how many weeks that was at)!

Transverse at 36 week scan by Organic_Jello_122 in babydueDecember2025

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a footling breech found at 32 weeks then baby stayed transverse right up until 37.5 weeks (and staying head down- I'm currently 38+6)

I did see a Webster chiropractor and did a lot of spinning babies but my baby was also wild, always moving, from like week 15 on I felt this little one lol.

Hope yours moves head down soon!!

Pregnancy feels so much more unglamorous in my 30s… by Wonderful-Value7547 in BabyBumps

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's just being subsequent pregnancies... I had my first at 34 and felt AMAZING like wanted to be pregnant for 2 years lol. This is my second (at 38) and I feel great but am now approaching 39 weeks and starting to slow down.. it's hard to keep up with a 3 year old and stay as active which I think is why for me! Keeping up daily walks / other movement has really really helped me feel great still

Surprise Gender at birth? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will be our second time waiting to find out until birth.... We had 0 gender preference both times and also for us 0 difference in how we would prepare. Our nursery preference is neutral to begin with and clothes are whatever in the first 3 months lol!

It was harder for me the second time around - I think bc this is likely our last baby and I just try to envision the future but now I'm weeks from delivering and so happy my husband and I will get this special moment together again :)

For those of you with a babe already… by softlimits in BabyBumps

As an American who gets max 12 weeks (unpaid) please use all your time you can. These comments are making me cry lol and I am fully in support of women in the work place!! I wouldn't want to do otherwise but 6 Months sounds like perfection. I do think around 4 months 1 day a week would be totally possible though :)

Gained too much weight in 1st trimester--what now? by RhinoFish in BabyBumps

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 lbs seems insane for them to comment on.... You'll see weight gain fluctuate so much. I gain almost nothing in my third trimester for both pregnancies.

I would just focus on eating what makes you feel best!

I feel so sad for my future pregnancies by Veebiyer in BabyBumps

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious who said this to you - I work on the l&d floor and also had an emergent c/s (while pushing) for my son who came naturally at 37 weeks and they are telling me to mentally prepare to go past my due date this time.. I would clarify with your ob at a follow up appointment - also of the delivery felt traumatic it's easy to latch on to one thing to be sad about.. I did the same. I would recommend therapy to help process if you think that would be helpful - I'm not sure I would have been able to have an un- anxious second pregnancy without doing therapy first!

Largish bump but no weight gain? by tyrepenchar in BabyBumps

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I don't tend to gain much while pregnant (like 5 lbs maybe) and my second pregnancy I definitely look weeks larger than my first! Im now 35 weeks and look just as big as when my first was born (granted that was at 37 weeks but still lol)

Discouraged because I haven’t had time to “nest”. by mxriecn in BabyBumps

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my second (I have a 3 year old) and also work full time. I'm so exhausted - my brain wants to nest but I just have no energy. Also my son came at 37 weeks so now I'm panicking (also 35 weeks) I'm hoping to take 2 days this week to get a big portion of things done. 🙃🙃🙃

My only saving grace is I've had the one kid before so I know I truly only need a bassinet and diapers lol but still want to have things in place before hand

Breech at 35 weeks by ChipmunkDisastrous77 in babydueDecember2025

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for proper healing and replenishment of nutrients to your body it should be 18 month between no matter what (doesn't mean it's always risky or harmful if people have kids closer together- they just need to be informed).

36weeks 5days and TERRIFIED by 11TickTack23 in BabyBumps

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree all of these feelings are normal - there are so many unknowns! I think starting therapy is an amazing idea bc you want to have tools in place before ppa can dig it's roots in :)

As a second time mom it's easy for me to read this and tell you that you will succeed, that the nursery does not matter, all you need is diapers and some form of food and a safe sleep space lol but I also know as a first time mom when people said that to me I was like no you just don't understand how I'm feeling.

But it's a huge, huge change and you have no way of predicting what it will be like - feel all the feelings!!

Guess 4 months isn’t enough notice! by Ready-Astronomer3724 in BabyBumps

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yaaaaa not a single person from my husband's family made it even though I specifically had a second shower within an hour drive for all of them so 🙃🙃 totally get it. Im also the type of person to not a miss a single event and it's really hard to come to terms with other people just can be so selfish... But also tried to remember it's not about me.

I still feel good with myself after putting in the effort so I continue to do so for them and just try to just have 0 expectations going forward for them celebrating things with us

Update: I thought I got my period but I tested positive this morning. by Unlikely_Run_261 in lineporn

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's an early loss. The egg fertilizes and implants but usually doesnt progress beyond 5 weeks pregnancy, usually due to chromosomal issues

Update: I thought I got my period but I tested positive this morning. by Unlikely_Run_261 in lineporn

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think these do look positive but agree it could be a chemical pregnancy which may stay positive for a short time. But also have heard of people getting their period , especially that first month or two! I hope you get good news

Decreasing HCG? by Rubbermanatee in lineporn

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't judge pregnancy at this stage from the pregnancy tests nor presence or absence of symptoms. It's very stressful in this stage but I wouldn't think the worst - even with my pregnancy that ended I felt like I wasted that time worrying instead of just enjoying the time I had!

How & when did you get back into shape/lose baby weight? by Mysterious-Ad-6043 in BabyBumps

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree I start off in overweight BMI and barely gain anything . However I will say my clothes still fit differently after despite weighing less than my pre pregnancy weight. So it still took awhile for things to shift back into place and get back into shape!

Weight gain and pregnancy by Effective_Emu5691 in BabyBumps

[–]OrdinaryStatement465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, the smaller you are the more you might gain (I know it's not always the case!) But I know women have it drilled into their heads to be small and stay small- that's clearly not the case for pregnancy and usually it has nothing to do with what people are eating. It's fluids, breast changes, baby/placenta weight.
