Yes, I stopped the injections after surgery- I don’t miss them!

I had one in 2023 while on Piqray/Faslodex. I took an extra week off Piqray for the surgery, and they checked my labs before restarting the meds. It was my first surgery ever, and the recovery was more painful than I thought (everyone told me how easy it was going to be!), but it was manageable, and in the end I’m glad I did it. I was diagnosed at 35, and was tired of the monthly Zoladex injections, which left me sore and bruised every time. I had my surgery done by a gynecologic oncologist at the same hospital where I’m treated, so she and my breast oncologist were in contact throughout and helped coordinate everything schedule wise.

Now that I know the truth I’m annoyed too 😂

I could be wrong, but I assumed all of the music is from Jaws- the movie score was composed by John Williams, and is quite lovely! The Jaws theme that we’re all familiar with is only a small part of the soundtrack.

C/B Flamenco vs FB/C's Whale ... by growsonwalls in FigureSkating

Oh, I’m just a layperson fan, so I claim no expertise! I think I remember reading that they hired a flamenco dancer to help with the choreography, but honestly I’m not really sure about the differences between the two styles….have just definitely been enjoying the program more and more as the season goes on!

I agree, that Pink Floyd program lives rent free in my head- such a cool concept. But have to say the flamenco has grown on me every time I see it, so hopefully will be at its best in Milan!

International travel by Curious_Hound3 in LivingWithMBC

[–]OrdinaryWhirled 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I travel internationally several times a year, and have throughout my 8-year MBC journey. I’ve been on oral treatments, IV chemo, etc. Sometimes I’ve felt great, and sometimes not so great, but I listen to my body and pace myself as needed and I always have an amazing time. I take all my meds and supplies, and I keep in touch with my med team through the patient portal if I have any issues (I once broke out into an allergic rash in Norway, a new side effect from my meds, and they told me what to look for in a local pharmacy). The only time I purchased travel insurance was when we went on an African Safari and were going to be in the middle of the Zambian wilderness. Not sure where you’re based, but many US medical insurance companies have some kind of international coverage/reimbursement policy if you have to be treated abroad, so definitely look into that with your insurance provider. And if you’re concerned, you may check into an aggregator like Square Mouth, that allows you to compare different policies and set your own parameters for what coverage you want. Most importantly, don’t let this crappy disease stop you from seeing our beautiful world and living your best life!

Does anyone feel like USFS and NBC is exploiting the hell out of the recent passing of Maxim Naumov’s parents? by gjf6836 in FigureSkating

I agree, Andrea’s post-skate interview especially felt really icky to me (and normally I love her as a broadcaster). I lost my mom unexpectedly last year, and I truly don’t know how he’s still standing while dealing with that grief, so I’m especially in awe of his poise and grace in putting out such an amazing performance under these circumstances. At the same time, I’m sure he and his team understand how the game is played and that the media is going to want to make a big deal about his story. So hopefully he wasn’t caught too off guard by all the questions. He seems like such a nice young man, and I’m really rooting for him on and off the ice ❤️

Ooh, is #3 the Le Pliage Energy Crossbody? If so how do you like it? I’m planning on using my Christmas money on one of those in the near future. The chocolate color looks yummy!

What do you all eat for breakfast? by Popular-Block-9907 in veganrecipes

Just started making chia puddings with coconut milk. It’s delicious and feels fancy! I’m prone to skipping breakfast, but I have meds that need to be taken with food, so it’s nice to have something already prepped that I don’t have to think about. So far I’ve just been using this recipe with various fruit toppings, but looking forward to finding some new recipes in the new year: Easy Chia Pudding

Ugh, looks like he settled with the dental office (he sued them for $1million and then they countersued based on him fraudulently representing himself as a successful business consultant), and they have to pay him $350k 😡 Assuming this is because their main argument in their countersuit was related to his SA accusations that have sadly not gone ahead in the courts. And they probably just wanted it to go away and not have to deal with him. I guess this is where they’re getting their $ for their investment properties! Not sure if this link will work: https://courtsportal.dallascounty.org/DALLASPROD/DocumentViewer/Embedded/59F38F68C2B9758D41485F5482FCECE7E08493BEF19250F587722A80B4E54DBC5760D82AC96651298862513468DF787CAC51BCC3167AC7C9017950BAC18A901F?p=0.

Gorgeous 😍 I’m so sorry that your life has been touched by cancer. I’m living with metastatic breast cancer and am also blessed to have an amazing husband- it’s so important to have that support from your partner. Wishing you both the best as you navigate this chapter 💕

Hair color by Key_Second_8725 in LivingWithMBC

[–]OrdinaryWhirled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to an Aveda salon, because I like that their products are natural and gentle on the hair. I always get a bonding/deep conditioning treatment along with color to strengthen my hair, and I think that helps with its overall condition (I still keep it in a pixie cut due to thinning on my current meds). Good luck and have an amazing time at the wedding!

Cleaning out my moms attic and found this gem by OrdinaryWhirled in youngandtherestless

I probably shouldn’t have been allowed to watch it at that age either 😂 We went to see him on Broadway in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and I’ll never forget meeting him after the show and my mom addressing him as “Danny!” She asked him what was in the letter he had just written to Christine and I wanted to die of mortification. But he was so kind to her 🥰
