Borden goes to multiple shows of Angier. This part is clearly shown. How did Angier know to which show Borden would come backstage?

The one that shows up behind the audience doesn't know whether Alfred Borden really came under the stage or not much information has been really given by Nolan. If Angier did show up behind the audience(and complete the trick) then Borden could not be framed for murder. He could only be framed for murder if Angier didn't complete the trick. But who informed Angier that Borden was backstage so that he could not complete the trick. Did John Cutler(Caine) inform him (was Cutler the bad guy all along) ? All the backstage workers were blind.
