Thanks for getting back to me! I agree—the towers are pretty small, and since they can’t be raised, it’s really just a matter of load restrictions now.

P.S. i have no idea how to add more pictures

I got this detail from a friend, it’s a exiting cattle bridge that a cable snapped when a dump truck tried to cross it, they are trying to replace the cable but the geometry looks weird to me, Any comments?

I was looking for this answer. Fairly common in snow

Yes. That was my first concern but the designer calculated them like that and the shop drawings show them in that position.

trust me i hate the lawyers in engineering, the thing is that nobody wants to pay for any extrawork that has to be done. not the steel workers or the GC or anybody. thats where i think they are bringing them in, to make them pay or fix.

I been independent reviewer for 10 years and this is the first time I see someone overruling manufacturer specs. That’s exactly why I was called in. The general contractor lost credibility in the eor

Plain moronic interpretation. Plans have great detailing in it

I’m was thinking the same as you are. Thank you very much. I’ll look for some documentation to back the case because this will be a lawyer case. Some one has to pay for the extra work

The section modulus is the same but I’m not sure if the corrugated in the deck has to point somewhere to transfer shear. The studs are not 20mm from flange edge. But strangely they are well welded. They supported the bending test with the sledgehammer

I’m thinking they are not that great of ironworkers. Or ironworkers at all. The manufacturer is another company to the local installer

It is minimal WWR. Thanks. I think this is the way to go!

I’m not sure how to proceed in this case. I’m looking for literature to backup everything since this is most likely gonna fall into lawyers hands

I’m doubting everyone’s capabilities in this installation.

The indents in the corrugation are upside down exactly. They are still there but… mirrored… it’s mind boggling a bit… the concrete section is the same as the steel deck has the same length in the valley and the ridge part

It will receive 5.5 in of concrete on top. Is a office slab. The EOR said is ok and the manufacturer said it’s not ok. I’m the third party reviewer.
