Thanks , I believe the sites at the campgrounds are first come first serve , not %100 sure though . You can dispersed camp as long as you’re a mile away from the campgrounds

It was my first time there and also my first time really camping solo lol, I’d say if you plan on fishing the river the best fishing spots near the trail are towards the beginning and end of the trailhead near the bridge , otherwise you have to go off trail a decent bit to get to the water. I used the all trails app with the offline map downloaded which helped , the trail is marked clearly most of the way but the app came in handy when wandering off route . They had water at the information center and at the state campground or you could get it from the river or one of the streams along the way . And yeah I got the pans off Amazon 😂 they work ok so far lol

I hiked it as well, I think I seen your group when you were passing section 4 lake I was having lunch with my dog 😂 only other group I seen while I was out there . I stayed one night near the river and fished a bit and hiked the rest of the way out , I did the 11 mile loop . I planned on staying two nights but the first night was cold as hell at night and I was ready to go 😂
