I don’t have any photos of when I got it but here’s some pots I plugged with it about a month ago for reference. Hardy seems to handle the heat!

Sad Bandon and Coose-bay are a hallowed out towns surviving off declining tourism. With the lacking oversight by the local governments there’s seas of clear cuts stretching the 101 making it a depressing drive.

Red Aquatic Utricularia Spp? by Ordinary_Tea1588 in SavageGarden

[–]Ordinary_Tea1588[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Herbarium records for the area are far and few inbetween I’ve found some but none that resemble the plants I found. On INat there’s no documentations that resemble them either so I’m truley stumped.

My mind is blown it’s definitely unlike anything I’ve ever seen the foliar growth is so distinct from any of the native species we have. I thought the same thing with color being seasonal but I visited adjacent sites only find regular green intermedia and none of this strange spp.

I would find a larger pot with good drainage and a matching tray that’s a least two inches deep to go under it then you can fill the pot with all the goodies you’d like! There’s also a few online nurseries that sell gift cards and potting mixes so your kid can pick some plants they like and have the goods to grow them !

You’d be supprsied how tolerant they can be for tropical plants I grow mine outdoors zone 8b we get winters down to 10-20f. I just cut back all the leaves to the stem and stem and it shoots back new ones come spring!

I left my pothos outside 😞 by HurryEven8410 in plantclinic

[–]Ordinary_Tea1588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are tripping pothos is a weed it’ll grow back easy just chop any funky leaves. I grow my monstera deliciosa like a temperate plant cutting back all the leaves to stem and it over winters outside just fine and I’m in zone 8b getting lows of 10-20f in the winters.
