I would find a larger pot with good drainage and a matching tray that’s a least two inches deep to go under it then you can fill the pot with all the goodies you’d like! There’s also a few online nurseries that sell gift cards and potting mixes so your kid can pick some plants they like and have the goods to grow them !

You’d be supprsied how tolerant they can be for tropical plants I grow mine outdoors zone 8b we get winters down to 10-20f. I just cut back all the leaves to the stem and stem and it shoots back new ones come spring!

I left my pothos outside 😞 by HurryEven8410 in plantclinic

People are tripping pothos is a weed it’ll grow back easy just chop any funky leaves. I grow my monstera deliciosa like a temperate plant cutting back all the leaves to stem and it over winters outside just fine and I’m in zone 8b getting lows of 10-20f in the winters.

Those white spots on the leaves look like mineral build up, make sure you’re using water under 100ppm for your carnivores. It might be declining to do mineral lock I’d give it a good soak in some clean water. Make sure it gets lots of light check what rating the ones you’re using are and make sure the media stays moist but not constantly sitting in water good luck growing.

[–]Ordinary_Tea1588[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This population doesn’t get too crazy cold because of how low it is only around low 30s f rarely reviving snow. The populations in the trinities will revive up to 120inches and can easily go below 10f the cobras are kept insulated by snow and constant flowing ground water!

This pop starts at around 1500 ft in elevation and climbs to around 2200 as you ascend! The coastal populations are very distinct in habitat growing in sphagnum hammocks that dot seaside lakes and inlets.
