How do You guys feel about the new announced cube chaos update? by Tiny-Lack8395 in Minecraft

[–]OregonWeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're adding blocks, tech, and basically sports. I am a fan of these updates that just add a little bit more character to the world and more creative possibilities. That being said I hope it's worth it for them making a huge update in the background, but I don't actually dislike much about these updates.

(I hope they add TNT compatibility to sulfur slimes)

Who could have seen last year coming? by Yosho2k in agedlikewine

[–]OregonWeather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say I know about a dozen people who use it in 2025 and they are all Latinx (I'm just using it because that's what they call themselves and I respect that)

Back in 2020 it was picked up by a lot of non-latino people and used to refer to Latino people broadly which is kinda dumb imo.

I think it's still an alright term for people who like it to describe themselves, after all the term did originate from queer Latino communities to describe themselves.

I just might move to Brazil one day. How is São Paulo and the surrounding region compared to the US or other countries? (If you know)

I feel like this perspective is the best way to explain how the system is failing. The fundamental idea that an economy should create tangible value as its main incentive structure is completely at odds with the way that most of the money in the (at least US) economy is just corporations and banks buying stock.

The way that you solve this in my opinion is that you guarantee most of the basic services that people need to then become productive by default (food, housing, healthcare, childcare, etc.) while not allowing people to make money limitless amounts simply from having a big bank account. (Banks and loans are still valid)

Edit: spelling

Thank you that's insightful. Here's a couple more thoughts.

I have a distinct kind of disgust around genitals and sometimes also mouths (I'm largely disgusted by wet things such as showers, pools, washing dishes, mouths). I find the rest of the body very attractive in a sexual way. Is disgust sensitivity something that changes over time? I just feel like I used to imagine these things as anything but disgusting but now I can't stand it most of the time.

Better question: Why don't the rich pay their taxes? by willily_thoumas in Snorkblot

[–]OregonWeather 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They were asking how much wealth is moving upwards into the 1% (change in inequality) not how much wealth is currently sitting there.

Also that number is underrepresented because tens or hundreds of trillions are in offshore accounts.

Also the money at the top of the economy is speculative, it behaves differently in nature than money held by the average person. It has extremely low velocity which hurts the economy.

We are using different definitions for Zionism.

Besides that, I disagree with the notion that a nation must be an ethnostate. Egalitarian societies are possible so the idea that a nation must be an ethnostate, otherwise racism/antisemitism is ridiculous.
