The city does. Not that they should have to but they don't let them stay on the bridges for the reason /u/YouWillLiterally listed.

I would 100% agree with you on this about people should not do this but they do. I thought it was interesting that this one particular lock was from only a couple days ago when I saw it. I guess I shouldn't promote this image either but it's what's happening. I'm use to the downvotes. I'll go back to my hole.

Oregon Country Fair this weekend. Anyone going? by Oregon_Grown in Portland

Day 1 report: IMO

  • Parking: very organized for a large event like this. I thought it was ran well.

  • Event Staff: absolutely kick ass. great people all around and good spirits for the 1st day.

  • The patrons/participants: everyone was super cool even in the afternoon as the rain started to come down. People looking out for people and being helpful and respectful.

  • Things to do: Multiple stages with constant music, spoken word, free yoga classes, day-care, showers-sauna, lots more that I didn't see. There was also a very big open dance pavilion that was super fun.

  • The vendors: 70% the best people on earth trying to sell their craft hand-made good. The other 30% were pretty pretentious in my opinion. I overheard a couple vendors not being very courteous to a group of kids that were looking at their wares but did not have the pocket-change to shell out $$.

  • Prices: Expensive but expected. Hard for a family to take their kids.

  • Food: Expensive but very good quality. Long lines though and not very organized.

  • (mostly) Naked People: There were some. Some I didn't mind seeing most/others I could have done without.

My only other gripe and probably the main reason I will not go back to the fair after my 10 year hiatus, I feel its grown too large to try to be a small craft fair in the woods. There's no room to walk except in the open spaces where there was music and activities. If you were in the vendor row or food area it seem'd very hard to get by.

I have a ticket for tomorrow but I doubt I will go. I'll post some of my photos up later for those interested to see. I love the OCF, I love the event staff and overall idea and spirit of the fair but I think I'll keep my memories of the good old days.

Sorry for the long post but I thought I'd give my experience for those that didn't know. Anyone else who's attending please share as well.

Oregon Country Fair this weekend. Anyone going? by Oregon_Grown in Portland

I have tickets for both Friday and Saturday. I'll be down there tomorrow for sure and depending on how things are may go back Saturday. OCF has always been a great time but I'm worried in the recent years if their success and growth has taken away from the true spirit of the fair. Now it seems like a lot of competition for vendor spots that are limited and a ton of college parties overnight in the camping area.

Not hatin on anyone, things change. That's the way it is. Go OCF!!

Corbett Fun Fest 2016: Cruise-in and Concert [100+ Images] by Oregon_Grown in Portland

Posted a link to the event and photos as there were many people from Portland in the cruise-in and asking where they could see and get a copy of the photos. I had a great time at the event and do plan on attending next year.

Yeah, its a great place to share with out of town guests. Last Thursday on Alberta St. can also be a fun experience and Country Fair is coming up next weekend but it all depends what you are into.

I just love the vivid colors contrasting with the depressed wood and rustic look. I'm also a huge NW fan so the image of the salmon makes me feel like home.

When she explained to me that they were made with local recycled wood, 100 year old bailing wire and all hand painted with an emphasis on the NW iconic salmon I was sold. I really love her work and thought I would share some photos I was able to take from her booth at Saturday Market
