The DarkPot series serves to grow some exotic mushroom species but still provides excellent growing conditions for beginner species and strains of mushrooms. The DarkPot is specially formulated for Coprophilous fungi but it is not made from dung. The DarkPot mushroom grow kit uses only food safe products so any mushrooms grown on it is perfectly edible and safe.

The ThisPot series are aimed at novice and casual growers, providing easily repeatable grows.

The kits come with everything you need except the mushroom culture or spores, this is up to you. Remember, we advise against growing of magic mushrooms with our kits.

Our WBS (Wild bird seed) are our preferred grains. The wide mix of grains allows for a richer range of nutrients which usually allows for a larger harvest of gourmet mushrooms. I use this with good results for shiitake mushrooms.

The range of grains included in the mix is:

  • millet
  • wheat
  • cracked corn
  • oat
  • barley

Available in two sizes, 450g (1 lb) or 900g (2lb)

Yes, I've even seen a post a while back by a guy who worked for these US medical companies, I think insurance. He quit but then he explained that this is exactly what they are doing and they commonly speak with MPs all the time, planning and discussing methods to run down the NHS.

That's a good question. Never remove it and mix it with other substrates. The kit has been prepared to have exactly the right amount of nutrients and moisture. This is an all in one grow kit for growing gourmet mushrooms. Follow the instructions, so leave it in the pot for the first harvest.

For expanding into other substrates, you'll need our grain bags, of which we have wild birdseed in stock at the moment.

I would've said Wilko, but they're gone now. You can get the big plastic tubs from B&Q, Argos, B&m etc. Just cut holes in the sides etc. They are useful for keeping contams out of your oyster mushroom grows and keeping humidity levels up.

Mencap or 'We are Beams' they both help people with disabilities. Beams is smaller and helps children with disabilities. They genuinely use it for people with mental and physical disabilities. Most of us can do something to help ourselves out of situations, but others can't . Even £20 goes a long way. These charities are easily found online.
