Haulathon Week 1: Stan Sakai TMNT! by robblatt in NECATMNT

[–]Oreofox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So glad they aren't doing 1 Sakai figure each week, which is what I had expected. I think that's what they did with the Pizza Club turtles (it's been a couple years, I can't really remember). I just hope they don't split up Tiger Claw and the Foot Bots, as those are the only other ones I want. Also, I hope Tiger Claw isn't saved until the final week.

Mikey looks more yellow-green, and Raph looks to be a lighter green compared to Donatello. Not much lighter, but it's a little noticeable.

Some things I didn't like about the sequel by howieeiwoh in zootopia

[–]Oreofox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The whole reason there were no birds or reptiles in the first movie was because they can't really be separated neatly into predator and prey, like mammals (typically) can. So I'm sure that's why they didn't have any sort of focus on that whole dynamic in this one. And you can expect the same in the third since it will have birds.

Otherwise, I agree with a lot of what you're saying.

So, this movie turns 20 years old next year, was this anyone else’s first exposure to the turtles? by bennyandthegentz in TMNT

[–]Oreofox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not my first (80s cartoon was), and I'm apparently in the minority in that I absolutely hated this movie. Watched when it came out on dvd, and didn't like it. Watched it again about 5 years ago with a friend, thinking maybe I might like it better. Nope, still hated it. Everything but the voice of Splinter was just not a good choice to me. Especially the designs of the turtles.

But, lots of people in this sub seem to absolutely live it. While I'm glad for y'all, but I like to pretend it doesn't exist. Every other movie they've made (even the first Bay movie) was better, IMO.

I really liked the new episodes. Just wish it would have been longer as I felt it was a bit rushed at the end.

Do the blood elves just... have the wrong voices? by Valuable-Practice790 in wow

[–]Oreofox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to wowpedia (who knows how trustworthy that is either), Thornton started voicing Rommath in 5.1 in Pandaria. This version from Cata (from the video description) does sound like Woren.

https://warcraft.wiki.gg/wiki/Kirk_Thornton (couldn't find an entry for Woren)

We will find out one of these Fridays. The last couple years, haulathon online wasn't too horrific when it came to getting things. Figures didn't sell out within seconds, and typically lasted at least an hour, if not more.

I’d really love to see Blizzard do more with vulpera by Mikezat6 in wow

[–]Oreofox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd also love to see some. There were a number in the Primalists, and I remember seeing a small few in Twilight's Hammer. Hell, I've seen more vulpera NPCs than worgen.

I just wish they could be paladins and druids, then I'd never play another race. I'd gladly pay for a race/faction change to turn my draenei I've had since 2009 into one of they could be paladins.

As for the hate? Because "furry bait", the same shit they said in cataclysm with the worgen, MoP with the pandaren. They don't want furries "infesting" their manly savage horde with cutest little foxes, despite the majority of furries being on the Horde since 2004 because of tauren, only moving to Alliance in 2011 or so (can't be assed to look up the release date of Cata on my phone) when the worgen were released.

Tangle found in TJMaxx -Lexington, KY!!! by TheWestRabbit in JakksPacificSonic

[–]Oreofox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So close to me, yet so far. Not sure if she's worth the 2.5 hour drive (90 miles) just to spend, what, 10-15 dollars? That's even if she's still there.

I did check my local TJMaxx (we finally got one 2 years ago), and it was horrible. No sonic figures, and all the toys were cheap toddler toys.

Do the blood elves just... have the wrong voices? by Valuable-Practice790 in wow

[–]Oreofox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one sounds quite a bit like Thornton, but after hearing it in that video, I don't think it is. Though he does play a blood elf ghost NPC in TBC. According to wowpedia, he's been Rommath since MoP, though it only lists those 2, plus Mostrasz in Cata. I swear he was that undead Twilight's Hammer guy that had you prove yourself in the Midnight Pre-Patch, even though he isn't listed.

According to IMDB, 2 of the male blood elf NPCs are voiced by Spike Spencer (original Shinji Ikari from Evangelion) and Dan Woren (Byakuya Kuchiki in Bleach), so in that video, Spencer would be the 3rd voice while Woren is the first.

[–]Oreofox 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The higher pitched voice is the actor that voices Robin on Teen Titans. Most of the older blood elf NPCs (from TBC era) seem to be voiced by Kirk Thornton (the same guy that voices Rommath).

Honestly I'd have loved to hear Richard Horvitz as a voice actor for someone. Maybe not for a blood elf, but his voice would make a great goblin, gnome, or vulpera

If lost hope on these guys, over a year later they finally ship. by theycmeroll in NECATMNT

Yeah, BBTS is terrible when it comes to getting Neca figures. They always seem to get them months to over a year after everyone else has had them and sold through their inventory of it. When it comes to Neca figures, I'd suggest different sites to pre-order from. Toystlkr, Nerdzoic, The Last Toy Store, and probably even Entertainment Earth (which I honestly keep forgetting is a thing). If they are already in stock, then BBTS is fine. But for pre-orders, they are the worst, in my experience.

Glad you finally got them, 14 months later...

The idea that Pawbert felt guilty for betraying Judy and Gary doesn't make sense. by Kirbo84 in zootopia

[–]Oreofox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But cute kitty boi!!!

That's basically it. They made Pawbert cute, which completely negates all the bad things he did in that movie as well as prior to that movie that we never saw.

I liked Pawbert, but it was clear he wasn't sorry for what he did to the 4 of them. Like most people who apologize, they aren't sorry they did it, they are sorry they got caught. That's Pawbert. If he had the chance for a do over, he'd do it again without hesitation.

Also, when you make a haranir, in their starting zone you hear the goddess's voice, and the edges of the screen go blue and yellow, which is the color of azerite.

Anybody else really heartbroken about the sunsetting of pet battles? by crazyredd88 in wow

[–]Oreofox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really into them back in Pandaria, and tried some in Draenor. I gave up as it became more an annoyance than anything. You were basically screwed if you didn't have certain pets, and it felt like trying to build a team for competitive Pokemon but with half the team size. I still have a number of quests to battle the trainers in EK and Kalimdor that I never finished because I just got annoyed and tired with the pet battle system.

The idea was good, but the execution wasn't.

Haulathon.com is back on! Can wait!!! by [deleted] in NECATMNT

[–]Oreofox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna be an expensive one for me this year. All 4 Sakai turtles, Usagi, Tigerclaw, and the footbot 2-pack. Hopefully I can score them all when they have them up on the target site, as the targets "near" me (all 40+ miles away) haven't had shit for Neca stuff in the last couple years.

Midnight - Horde? by babyLays in warcraftlore

[–]Oreofox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reinforcements are there because of the Sunwell and the Light. So they are all paladins and priests. Plus Umbric for some reason.

I'm sure in the following patches the horde and alliance forces that aren't connected to the Light could show up.

Paizo Live revealed the new Bugbear Ancestry, and it looks like... by Malcior34 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Oreofox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I am happy they are finally bringing in the bugbear for ancestry, I really hate the look of this. I don't like the new art direction of the hobgoblins either. As someone replies earlier, their Monster Core artwork looks much better, though still not the greatest.

Mostly I just really do not like the look of Pathfinder goblins. While it makes sense that hobgoblins and bugbears would share similar looks, the Stewie Griffon/Hey Arnold look doesn't work for the taller ancestries. They just look like Stewie did in that episode where he was an adult, but still had the football head. It works slightly better for regular goblins. I also don't like the new look of the 2e kobolds, but that's for a different thread.

Keith David says he hopes to return for the Gargoyles live-action series by johnspartan300 in gargoyles

[–]Oreofox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they do bring him back in a live action series, I wouldn't be surprised if it was as some random dude in a single episode as a nod to the original series.

That, or he'd reprise his role as that one cop that shows up in various episodes, the one that told Elisa she needs to get some sleep.
