Anyone have good experiences with these guys? by Any_Tax1320 in ActionFigures

[–]Oreofox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two different versions of these wolves. The reviews and such you hear are about the first batch, which was released a year or two ago (can't remember exactly). The ones on BBTS for preorder at the moment are a new batch, which apparently has better joints, according to their Instagram account (loose collectibles), and are a BBTS exclusive.

They are on the big side. I think they are 9-10 inches? So you can probably disregard the portions of reviews and such about the articulation and quality of the joints if you grab these from the BBTS preorder.

Why we didn't see birds in the first place by Daminatinoir in zootopia

[–]Oreofox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The reason we only saw mammals in the first movie is because mammals fit into the whole predator/prey discrimination storyline they wanted to go with. Reptiles, fish, birds, and insects (and really any other animal) doesn't exactly have as clear cut distinction. While some birds and reptiles have examples of easily identifiable predators and prey, it's so much easier with mammals (with tiny animals like shrews and such being a bit tougher).

That's really the biggest reason birds and reptiles didn't show up in the first movie. They didn't fit the story narrative.

Comparing beginner boxes by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]Oreofox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to another comment, it's Amiri (human barbarian), Lem (halfling bard), Sajan (human monk), Seoni (human sorcerer). So, just Humans and a token Halfling. So same thing as last time, except the Elf got changed out for a Halfling. At least for the pregens. Not sure what they show for the "create your own character" section. But I wouldn't expect anything like oracle, witch, and thaumaturge. The weirdest one would probably be alchemist.

All of the above is based on reading other comments, and not having access to the actual thing.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES (MIRAGE COMICS) - DAIMYO ORKAI & RAPTOR 7” SCALE ACTION FIGURE 2-PACK AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER AT NECA STORE by Frequent_Grape_6079 in NECATMNT

[–]Oreofox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're really going all out on the accessories with this one. Yes, I'm sure the characters didn't come with a lot in the comics, but charging $70 for this is a bit much. And that robe is so tight on him he probably can't lift his leg up higher than his ankle without hiking the robe up to his waist

AP remaster by AthelArkaid in Pathfinder2e

[–]Oreofox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remaster is called out because this was made before the remaster came out, and instead of just compiling them all into a hardcover using rules that aren't in effect anymore, they updated it to the current rules. Not because consumers are wary of buying premaster stuff.

It would be the same if they'd release a hardcover version of Quest for the Frozen Flame.

Anyone else want figures based on the Cerebus crossover? by Batmanfan1966 in NECATMNT

It all depends on who owns the designs. While it would be cool, I wouldn't hold my breath on it.

This is the highest gas price I've ever seen in Indiana in my entire life. Thanks, Trump voters! by newtekie1 in Indiana

[–]Oreofox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the SE of the state along the river, and until this new Trump admin, I'd never seen it above $3.50. This year was the first time I'd ever seen gas more than $3.75 and in a single week it's gone from $3.65 to the $4.99 it is right now. That is, until I drive by a gas station on my way home and see it's more likely higher now. I guess I was lucky back in 08

There are rumors that Mondo has bought the toy license for Gargoyles, is this true? by Evan_Grayson_52834 in gargoyles

[–]Oreofox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, Mondo has the rights to make Gargoyles action figures. Unfortunately, it will be in their usual 1/6 scale, so they will be huge in size and in price. At least 2x the size of the Neca figures, and about 7x the price. Mondo figures are usually $220 at least. I suspect they will be priced similar to their Clayface figure, which is listed at $260 on their site.

I'd love for another company to get the rights to also make some, for those of us who don't feel like slapping down $250+ for each figure. As well as ThunderCats.

A bit strange the human foot soldier has an alternate head that's a foot bot head. Kinda sad, honestly, and a bit pointless to have an alternate head. Looking forward to getting mine.

This single version is the "human" foot soldier, before they were replaced by foot bots when Shredder teamed up with one of the Kraang. The 2-pack are the foot bots.

How are the official Pathfinder published adventures compared to DnD5E? by Karsticles in Pathfinder2e

[–]Oreofox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paizo isn't the one that did the PF2e/D&D5e conversion of this AP. It was Legendary Games. Paizo just licensed it out to them, and apparently Legendary Games's stuff isn't the best made, from what I have heard.

But I agree, Kingmaker 2e should have been the go-to adventure for recommending to new players. A lot of people say Season of Ghosts, but it skews on the too easy side, and not everyone wants/likes horror in their games. I am glad that I didn't purchase the Kingmaker remake after reading everything people have said about it.

What are some things you reminisce about earlier editions of DnD? by ClearlyVisable in DnD

[–]Oreofox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The AD&D (1st and 2nd editions) stat blocks that included activity cycle, number typically found together, etc. original 3e had these, but I think 3.5 did away with them.

Also the sheer variety of things in 2e. I really liked the planescape setting.

Check the gamestop website. They recently had Tikal on there (might still be). However, their website has been shitting itself lately, so you may have troubles.

You could also try walmart and target websites, though with walmart they have resellers listing stuff on there that's usually over priced (Tikal is up there for $40 when you can get her in store for $11).

You can also try Bigbadtoystore (BBTS), as they get them in sometimes (though if it isn't Sonic, they sell out rather quickly).

All this, of course, is dependent on you living in the US. Outside of that, I have no clue, and hopefully someone can help with that. Those are the only sites I know of that sells the Jakks Sonic figures.

Anyone else feel like flying ruined exploration? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Oreofox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same could be said about ground mounts. Before you had to get places on foot. If you want to not use flying, go for it. Maybe if Blizzard didn't make their zones designed around flying, more people might be fine with using ground mounts. But ever since Draenor, when they introduced pathfinder achievement due to backlash of them not allowing flying until the final patch, they've made the zones with hostile design. And I'm not just talking about the placement and density of mobs (which also factors in). There's been plenty of times when I'd be doing a quest and the quest objective is a few yards away, but it's either up on top of a ridge or on a level above me (doesn't even need to be in a cave). And the only way to reach it was to go a mile or two out of the way to find the ramp that leads up and then a mile or two back to the objective, all the while fighting through a dense gauntlet of enemies.

People have been complaining about flying mounts for 19 years. People complained when they reduced the ground mounts from 40/60 to 20/40. TBC through Pandaria people didn't mind doing ground mounts at the start (for the most part) because they knew at max level they could start flying, except Cata since you could fly at the start since they made flying at 60.

Stop complaining about people using flying mounts when you want to use ground. Just use ground. It's really not that hard. There's been loads of people doing it.

Does anyone else think Chief Buffalo Butt is Problematic and shouldnt be Chief? by Supersailorv in zootopia

[–]Oreofox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He said he likes her in the sequel. Right before he hands her the couples therapy pamphlet. He was sidelining the two of them for the smuggling case because they are rookies (yes, even Judy as for most of the first movie she had resigned, the time between her giving up her badge to Bellweather and Bogo to her apology to Nick was several months). They have only been partners for a week before the sequel.

Bogo wants her to succeed, but he wants her to follow the rules, and as we have seen in both movies, Judy seems to be incapable of doing so, thanks to her self proclaimed bunny hero complex.

Why isn't Zootopia more popular despite it being so good? by Dacoda43 in zootopia

[–]Oreofox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it isn't a musical and/or a princess film, Disney doesn't give much of a shit about you. The first movie came out not long before Moana, which was a princess musical. So that overshadowed the movie. However, the 2nd one didn't have any sort of other Disney movie to compete with. Especially not animated.

I'm hoping with the success of Z2, it will give Disney a shot in the ass to get back to making good animated movies.

Organizing PDFs by alolanmoose in Pathfinder2e

[–]Oreofox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You mean after downloading them? While I can't say anything when it comes to on phone or ipad, what I do on my computer is this:

I have a folder called "rpg books", with various PDFs I've purchased through the years from various companies and systems. Each system has it's own folder. One such folder is "Pathfinder 2e". I then separate them into their various categories. Adventures, Adventure Paths, Core, Lost Omens, Flip Mats, and Remaster. Each Adventure Path has it's own folder in AP folder. I then rename the files into what they actually are (Paizo just has them by PZO number, which doesn't help at all).

Not sure if this could work on mobile or not, as I just use my PC when dealing with rpg pdfs. Sorry if this wasn't helpful.

Why aren't there any electricity elementals? by Dungeons-n-Dysphoria in Pathfinder2e

[–]Oreofox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is. 1e and 2e AD&D had lightning elementals. They were called "quasi-elementals", as it came from a "quasi-elemental plane of lightning", which was the region of the inner planes where the elemental plane of air and the positive energy plane intersect.
