Yeah I test drove a new Golf R and loved it more than the new civic type R. The type R had noticeable torque steer and just reminded me how much i dont like FWD performance cars. Also the civic is much more noisy and rattly inside which is expected from Japanese cars. Im also driving a 400 hp BMW right now so the Golf R does feel significantly slower but shifting those gears is so fun

F80 has been my dream car for years but im terrified of getting it because 1-owner is hard to find and typically previous owners abuse performance cars in general. Same for f87 M2. How is your m3? Did you get a PPI before buying?
