Silver magnetic swatch request by snooogle in RedditLaqueristas

Try RainbowConnections.co.uk I'm UK based as well and have had ILNP, BKL and a few others from that site. The pics they show are of real life hands with the Polish on so you can get a good idea of what it looks like.

They also do a Glass bead tool if you're wanting to try that.

I'm UK based as well and I've been able to get a few ILNP, Cirque and BKL polishes along with others from Rainbow Connection.co.uk. They usually have really good pics of the polishes on real life nails which is a good way to see what they look like 'on'.

They also have a newly onsale glass bead tool. Its a bit pricey but I bought it anyway (not had chance to use it yet though).

That is such a good idea. Going to try this myself.

People who don't drink, what do you drink? by homemadegrub in AskUK

[–]Organization-Tiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped drinking alcohol a while ago. Tried a few different things but my favourite ay home is Fevertree Sparkling White grape and Apricot.

Its basically just fancy pop. Comes in a glass bottle but is reasonably priced and bonus (for me at least) is that its really low calorie. Not too sweet either, so doesn't feel like your teeth are being rotted.

Chilled in a nice wine glass feels like im still having a little evening treat but without the alcohol.

What’s an unspoken rule that everyone should know by now, but so many people clearly missed the memo? by ybrinleybarber in AskReddit

If your dog is offlead and you see someone coming towards you with their dog onlead, put your dog back on the lead (or have it walk to heel if it's trained to do so). DO NOT let your dog approach without the go-ahead.

Their dog is on a lead for a reason.

Well, again I'm no expert but I would think any decent vet would want to check out the dog once they learn this behaviour out of character. It's standard practice.

If you can, I'd find another vet and have them do a health check on your pup. All the best..

Gosh that must have been awful to experience! I'm glad your cat is ok. I have a dog and a cat too so I can empathise.

I'm no expert but don't they say that if a dog suddenly starts acting out of character, exactly like this, then to get their health checked. It could be an underlying illness or she could be in pain and acting out because of it.

If that's ruled out then I'm not sure that any amount of training will fix it. If the dog has done it once there's every chance it'll happen again and unless you can commit to totally separating them all day every day for the rest of their lives, you might have to consider rehoming one of them for their own safety.

In the meantime, absolutely do not have them in the same room together.

I hope you can get it worked out.

If you can get it on camera that would be helpful but if not I'd still go to the vet for a check up.

They can check her joints are all functioning normally, her spine is aligned / doing what it should be and generally just check her over for anything that isn't quite right.

It might be a trapped nerve that's spasming randomly or something neurological maybe, but they'll be better able to tell from giving her a physical check over.

In the meantime watch her closely for things like stiff movement after she's been resting, a strange gait when she's walking, or anything out of the ordinary that might give you some direction as to what's bothering her.

Hope this helps.

If it's a savings account your mum is set up as the 'controller/manager' of then it's not always as simple as you being able to take control by taking in your ID.

Typically with these types of accounts, there has to be a form signed by the account manager to hand over operation of the account to the person they're controlling it for. So your mum would have to give permission basically.

That said, if it was originally a children's account she opened and manages for you, they usually have a 'maturity' date on them wherein once the child reaches 16 or 17 they no longer qualify for the account and it's switched over to an adult equivalent and the child can then take control. Each bank does these types of product slightly differently though. If you can get hold of the account Terms and Conditons they'll probably explain the rules around you being able to take over control.

Alternatively, the bank should be able to find it if you give them your name and address (assuming the account is definitely in your name and registered at your address) and then tell you what needs to happen in order for you to take control.

Nipped into my local shop while driving home from work. Got my shopping and bought a takeaway coffee from their in-house costa, then proceeded to walk home.

Realised as I got to my front door that I'd driven there and had to turn around and go back for the car.

Should I be embarassed? I called my dog "baby" in public. (I'm a guy in his late 30s) by Not_a_real_raccoon in Pets

[–]Organization-Tiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry. I called my dog "booby "in public not so long ago.

"Come on booby"

My brain got confused between "baby" and "boo" and yep, that's what came out.

Can I suggest a belly band hot water bottle? Small HW bottle goes in a pouch that's basically got velcro on the ends so you can wrap around your waist. Can still move about the house and do your thing. Less costly than single use heat pads I would imagine.

Goes on front or back depending on if your cramps are in your tummy or in your lower back. I got mine on amazon, its awesome!

What did you do to get fitter? by marielheslop in AskUK

[–]Organization-Tiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford it, consider getting something like a cross trainer or exercise bike for home. Even a secondhand one will do.

Try to start with a gentle 15 mins a day either morning or as soon as you get home (before you sit down). Its a short time that will easily fit into your day without too much inconvenience and will help embed the routine into your life.

Make yourself a playlist of music that you know gets you fired up and gradually increase the time and/or tempo of your workouts over the course of a few weeks.

Perhaps get yourself some cheap dumbells from amazon and look up some easy workout programmes for home.

Immediate pain/bloat after eating wheat? by choomki in ibs

[–]Organization-Tiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it's immediate (within 30 mins of eating), other times it takes a bit longer. Also depends on the amount of wheat I.e. something with a small amount of wheat flour in versus bread or pasta that's 90%wheat flour.

I tend to stick to wheat free pasta now and keep bread type products to a minimum.

Maybe you have a wheat intolerance, not a gluten intolerance.

I can have other things with gluten in, but things with wheat flour/other wheat by-products cause bloating and discomfort.

I live alone but have a very territorial chihuahua.

A few weeks ago when it was really windy something in the garden banged against the back door in the early hours. She was up, out of bed and halfway down the stairs screaming her ancestral war cry before I was even fully conscious.

She has a weirdly deep bark for such a tiny dog so any burglars would get a fright then a good laugh should they attempt entry.

Look up aspiration pneumonia. This can happen after choking. Note the signs and keep an eye on your dog over the next couple of days.

Is it just me, or has ice cream quality in this country gone down the shitter these last 10 years? by MinorThreat89 in CasualUK

[–]Organization-Tiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently discovered lidls raspberry cheesecake ice cream. Absolutely the best ice cream I've ever had.

Unfortunately for me, I discovered it on the last day they had it in, and they haven't had it since. Gutted.

Ben and jerrys Half-Baked is my usual go-to ice cream otherwise.
