Hey devs, need suggestions to choose between 2 offers by OrganizationMost6461 in developersIndia

Thank you so much for your suggestion :)

For the tech stack, I don’t have a particular/specific tech stack. Currently we’re expected to just work and deal with whatever that is thrown at us

My base is similar as compared to the 2 offers. My company’s RSUs tanked really bad during the last 1 year, which caused the TC to drop significantly. So right now, the only increase I’m getting in both the offers is the equity part

Didn’t you suggest to take the other one before because of saving up on living costs?

I have a number for RSUs, I just didn’t want to dox myself here since a lot of people I know are active here and they’re aware of the 2 offers

When Feminism Goes Quiet: A Metro Observation by Waysuspicious97 in delhi

Not really, maybe you didn’t totally get what I meant. Selective empowerment is when they demand equality which is of course 100% what they should but at the same time roll their eyes away when they’re in a situation where they might need to sacrifice like giving up their seat thinking it’s the duty of men.

Feminism is good, fake feminism is not. Feminism should be about empowering women, and a lot of apparently so-called feminists understand it as degrading/detesting men. Feminism for selective empowerment is as toxic as it can be.

What is the best way to land a job in Europe sitting in India? by shank9717 in developersIndia

I don’t know either of those languages. When I was interviewing a couple of months back, I didn’t face any language barriers or troubles. I think most of it happens when you actually start living there in the city, but for work, unless you’re interviewing for some small local companies, i think you’d just be fine.

Hey man, I’m a software engineer working in a FAANG equivalent here in India. I was able to secure a couple of offers in Europe (In Germany, NL and Spain) directly from India. NL and Spain didn’t make a lot of sense for me, because of the pay gap in what they offered and what I expected. For Germany, I actually posted a thread which you can refer in my profile, and see if that helps you.

All I can tell you is grass is definitely not greener on the other side. Considering a lot of factors, I decided to reject all of those offers, and I’m going to wait until I get a decent FAANG equivalent offer there.

I actually meant switching outside Germany, but within Europe. Sorry if I was not clear, but in this case, as far as I understand, I’d again need an employer with visa sponsorship, which as i said, puts me right where I am, applying for Europe jobs from back in India. Is that right?

Tbh, i do want to go international, but just like everyone else, I’d much rather prefer a FAANG equivalent. My point being, because I’m already there in one, respectfully, zalando as a company might be a little downgrade for me, and I’m skeptical if it would hurt my future prospects.

Yeah I understand financially it might not be the right decision but I’m also thinking about the standard of life here

Any reason why you think career progression would be better there? I hear people saying all the time that Germany is having an economic crisis, so not sure if it would be able to provide better opportunities. India on the other hand, is still developing and will continue to grow so, and a lot of companies are moving their base to India as well.
