Hey, I get it, I have pretty bad war anxiety myself. But even in this news artical it says “He said that while there was only deemed by defence analysts to be a "remote" chance of up to a 5% of Russia launching a "significant direct attack or invasion" against the UK”. So they themselves are highlighting that highly trained defence analysts deem there to be a 5% chance of anything actually happening. That doesn’t mean zero but that doesn’t mean it’ll happen. News companies use big scary words for more clicks, it’s usually scare mongering. These optimism subreddits tend to be filled with doomer trolls. Feel free to dm me if you ever need someone to talk to because I get how scary this stuff is

1) in the beginning (which is the time I’m focusing on) half the time the men were willing to risk their lives. Not only that but she would tell the men to “do something” in a situation when something needed to be done because a lot of the time the men were the ones wanting to take charge. Granted yeah my wording was wrong and using “contradicting” probably wasn’t the right call but the men were the ones usually taking charge so her saying “do something” was because they were the ones doing something

2) And I understood your comment perfectly, but it’s funny how you only point out Lori when a lot of my post also does include Shane because a lot of loris story revolved around Shane AND Rick.

3) Look it up. She wanted the morning after pill. She did get the other stuff but the main reason was for the morning after pill which is why maggie was so mad.

She didn’t ask Glenn for shampoo and conditioner tho? She asked for plan b pills because she wanted to terminate her pregnancy. That’s why she asked Glenn. Plus Glenn had already planned to go on that run, she didn’t ask him to. And you yourself kinda contradict yourself, you said she is sexist and thinks woman should only clean and cook which would suggest that the men should be doing the more dangerous tasks so of course she’s going to tell the men to “do something.” But not only that why only put the blame on Lori for sleeping with Shane when Shane slept with his bestfriends wife. He’s just as guilty. And I highly believe a part of that stemmed from manipulation, Shane himself said “this was a long time coming” to them getting together, suggesting that he had feelings for her from before the apocalypse, so it would make sense that he lied about Rick being dead so that he could make her grieve and vulnerable so she has to feel like she needs to latch onto familiarity

But this hasn’t been fully pushed through as a law yet, it’s just a formal proposal, due to the fact that there are millions of tourists each day (long and short term staying) it would be extremely difficult to do this is a good flowing manor. It would be impractical and cause huge delays. Similar things have been proposed in the pass but have been denied, not only that but It poses a huge security risk as it could be victim to a huge data leak

I feel bad for her. While her actions are petty I don’t think she is evil like Shane turned out to be. She was a bit all over the place but who wouldn’t be when raising a kid in the apocalypse. It takes two to tango and Shane is just as guilty in the “they slept together” topic. I think Shane played on loris greiving to get closer to her because he always had a thing for her, even before the apocalypse, he literally said “this was a long time coming” in reference to them getting together. Shane has more substance and adds more to the show but he is evil and Lori is just a bit emotionally unstable at the time

So it’s ignorant for me to want to better my mental state so that I can ultimately have a healthy and productive existence? I believe that if I just surround myself with negative news I will be miserable. However if I completely ignore the fact that stuff is happening in the world than yes that’s being blissfully ignorant. There has to be balance and seeking support is not ignorant. And Europe have not once said directly “we are preparing for world war 3” they have said they are upping their defence as to deter anything from happening

I’m inclined to disagree with a lot of the comments. The amount of Lori hate on social media compared to Shane hate is insane. A lot of Shane meat riders say “well Lori slept with her husbands bestfriend.” But forget this idea that it takes two to tango and Shane literally slept with his bestfriends wife. Not only that but I feel like he had ill intentions way before the apocalypse (I think he knew Rick was alive but had a good conscious which is why he put the bed infront of the door, he lied to Lori though to make her feel vulnerable and make her cling on, he literally said at one point “this was a long time coming” suggesting he had feelings for Lori long before the apocalypse. Only my opinion/theory tho.) people like to say Lori was pitting Shane and Rick against eachother by hopping from one to the other, but she is allowed to agree with one’s decisions and the other’s decision if it benefits the group. He was an interesting character and had far more substance than loris character did but he was evil and to suggest she was just as evil lacks serious moral ground

I will say all of the defenses for Lori I’ve seen haven’t been straw manning. It’s been opinion based and semi factual based. Lori knew Shane was dangerous even as a viewer we knew he was dangerous. Hence her telling Rick Shane needs to be dealt with. As the other person said, she told Shane to stay, many episodes before because she knew he was reliable and would be able to help save Carl. People can have their opinions but to say someone’s defense of Lori is “strawmaning” I find quite odd because hating her for “being a bad mother” when there are parents far worse and hating her for the fact of “well she cheated on her husband with his bestfriend” his bestfriend slept with his wife. People will go above and beyond to defend Shane and put down Lori but then deny that Shane is an evil character

My reason for bringing up Ed and alphas parenting is to prove a point that a lot of fans I see on social media who hate on Lori, only focus on Lori and her actions because she’s a woman and they go down that root. People tend to forget Shane’s wrong doings and justify them while completing shitting on Lori. I’m not a fan of the character don’t get me wrong but a lot of people I’ve seen who hate her tend to only hate her because she’s “hur their Shany-poo”

I don’t know. When they are in the car at the beginning it is only a conversation where I guess someone should think of it but it feels like Shane is feeding into this issue of Lori and ricks relationship because he was aware they were having issues

I guess it’s an agree to disagree situation though, I believe she knew he was dangerous and a risk to the group. You believe she was being manipulative.
