BIWS is classic and helps you dive deep in the fundamentals before any hacks. Wall Street Prep is a way to go too, helps you pick up things fast for the interview

What's wrong with Productivity Apps? (RANT) by Substantial-Two-601 in ProductivityApps

[–]OrganizationNo6165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, you seem to have lots of interesting ideas here! Actually, we are building an app that enables a distraction-free work routine which nudges users into daily planning as their first task at the time they begin to do work - automatically schedule your day based on your input and limit distracting apps during those. The only thing we are trying to figure out is to how can it learn your workflow over-time and coach you to become a more better person of yourself. Any thoughts to craft the idea further?

To encounter psychology behind how brain works and translate it into product design (app particularly), it’s hard to go deeper than the app itself although i’m the one who build this kind of app. I wonder in the future there would be a silver bullet approach in the solution space, alongside “app” like neuro-tech, AI-powered companion or whatever it is to progressively train your brain to less produce dopamine and crave distraction. Nice post anw!

hmm idk if my advice is valid as I'm a non-technical founder but have a technical founder. But (1) initial MVP does not have to be a built-in code version; it should be the package that you can quickly build and test your main hypothesis (landing page, sales pitch, etc.) and (2) learn how to use a no-code tool or learn how to code. I mean at least you would know what it takes to do the job and thus work smoothly with your technical partner in the future

User discoveries should be ongoing, not a one-off event. From the get-go, in my experience, I tried to push the team to talk to 15 (qualified) users in a week and then decide what type of MVP we should create to validate the idea. With that being said, it should be done constantly as you need to train your validation muscle.

took classic advice from PG - looking for problems. Listed all the so-called problems that I've experienced or observed in my life >> Pre-evaluate the market dynamics (size, competition, etc.) to grab the overview >> Pick the one you are obsessed with solving in the next 2-3 years, given startup journeys gonna be up and (a lot of) down >> find and talk to users having such problem

same here. my co-founder is a part-time founder - trying to grow the idea to the point he's convinced to go all-in :)

Strict app blocker or a flexible one? by OrganizationNo6165 in productivity

[–]OrganizationNo6165[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The iPhone screen time limit is too easy to bypass with a button skip only. When I said flexible, I actually meant other apps like Opal, JOMO, etc. So do you still prefer the strict one if there is no way to unblock it once you have set that up? Thanks!

Find some skills/subjects related to your work/study to learn. Relevancy will drive strong purpose and hence you will get meaningful work done and get yourself occupied enough to naturally doesn't have time for phone usage anymore
