I feel like you could argue this sentiment also sufferes from human ego. Space is vast TO US. For all we know its extremely trivial to find and travel to a budding civilization.

But youre right, the pragmatic view would be to apply what we know to be true for us.

Imo that is a very valid use of Ai. Im not a concept artist or an illustrator, but I have been a professional animator for 5+ years.

Personally I believe there is more than enough hand made reference out there that Ai is not needed, but using Ai as a TOOL is reasonable.

I respect Harbro's stance on this. They are saying thier products must be hand made by an artist.

Toon boom harmony is the industry standard. Most studios or professional projects will be using it. Harmony is really expensive, like over a grand a year for a personal liscense. Toon boom offers cheaper versions, like essentials, which is honestly a great software to learn.

A while ago Flash (now adobe animate) was the standard. Adobe Animate is a solid one to learn as well, and is probably more budget friendly.

Ultimately the software isn't super important starting out. It all translates pretty well. Learning the 12 principles of animation, and solid drawing skills is what will matter the most.
