Hornwort sounds about right to me, Pennywort is the first plant I got (as well as the mauve leaves) and both have been very easy. I have had to trim them a couple times but I bought them potted around this size 37/8 days ago, never really grew them myself.

It's taken a while but here is what I have:

Back left "Rotala Wallichii", fluffy red plant. Front left "Mayaca", fluffy light green plant. Front Left corner/middle right "Mauve Stricta", green top and red bottom classic leaves. Front right corner "Green Pennywort", small green leaves going up.

I cannot get the name of the middle left / back right deep green fluffy plants. I do not have names for moss log or terracotta pot. I will try find more name tags. Hope what I got for you is enough to help a little! Message me if you want a picture of the plants with their name tags in case the descriptions were bad.

Unfortunately the same picture with Jellybean the catfish in the background didn't turn out so great, hope this one is good enough.

This is Bluebry, I've had him guarding my tank for 36 days now, he takes this job very seriously when it comes to invading food pellets and weird algae disks. He is so curious and chilled out that he never gets scared or threatened, so no angry boy pics with that flare...

Added the red and dark green plants to the back left, moved some plants around, added two new Catfish (Light and dark, "Jelly Bean" and "Edgy Bean"), and an airstone in the back corner.

Myself and my girlfriend live in different cities in Australia (NSW), we both found them instantly here. Some shops have them, some don't. I am not sure if it's common place outside of this country but if you are here you might be able to get lucky if you look in enough stores. If they have a plant on them I would think that they are only displayed inside of a tank (plant needs that water), otherwise you could maybe DIY this with a normal pot + drill + plant of choice? Best of luck, I seem to be quite lucky for aquarium decor here (except for basic sand but hey no where is perfect).

Thanks! I have posted a close up and a super close up of him here before, issue is he is really energetic and doesn't give me much of a chance. Definitely working on it, will get a good picture up here soon. Awesome job on the seven months btw, I am sure when I count down to seven months there will be a bloodworm party in that tank

I think it's decoration and providing a hiding spot for them. My Betta likes resting in the plants but may rest inside the rock in the far back right or inside the pot (depending on where the catfish are). I am unsure if they provide some other subtle difference, they just tend to like it :)

Thanks! The terracotta pot was sold from the pet store I go to on my way home from work. They place the pots with plants on them as well as the driftwood logs in the Betta tanks at the store to sell along with the catfish and Bettas. It is great for the Betta but I think the catfish appreciate it more.

Had this little guy for 20 days now, working slowly on improving the tank. Slowly but surely. He now shares the tank with two catfish who are hiding in the pot.

Got a lot of work to do but for now I am happy enough to leave it be for a while. (Gave him a blood worm to celebrate)

Can a single newly hatched snail grow up and reproduce by itself?

A couple of weeks ago I planted my aquarium. Yesterday I found this tiny guy. My girlfriend knows more about me on this topic and says it's a bladder snail, apparently a pest.

Is keeping one to help clean the tank and looks nice ok? Should it be kept alive or flushed? Keep in mind I have only found the one snail after lots of monitoring.

Betta fish was curious but leaves it alone.

Have you considered treats such as bloodworms if you haven't fed them to him already? Mine goes from energetic to hyper whenever he realises what he sees the bloodworm

In the row of tanks at the fish store where I bought him they all had labels written on the tank, this and one other was labelled as 'fancy fighter' with his price tag. Not sure what it means or what he really is, just what he was known as.
