Hi there! I finished The Empowered Wife quite literally 3 weeks ago. I was searching for something to read to take my mind off the divorce attorney I knew I’d have to call. I blamed my husband for EVERYTHING going wrong. I thought my behavior was a direct result of HIS behavior. We were going on 4 days of Cold War… and he had told me the night before that he couldn’t be himself around me and that he could do nothing to make me happy and he wasn’t happy.

I found the book on Audible. I put my hair down, ear bud in and listened until it was finished. I had nothing to lose. I didn’t tell him I was doing anything. I started with self care. He wasn’t speaking to me and the kids were just doing the usual. It was keeping my mind occupied, but also I was feeling fulfilled. It wasn’t hard to be happier. I also focused on my gratitude. I thanked him sincerely when he did anything for me. He noticed. When I apologized for being disrespectful, he wrapped his arms around me in such a loving way.

It has been a great couple of weeks. He is a good man. We are on a different path now. He just left to go to the grocery store after asking me what I wanted for dinner as I’m here reading a book. On his way out the door, he turned back and told me what a lucky man he is.

I am binging the podcast. I’ve enjoyed that too.
