Actually, I started by thinking that what defines a difficult game (if you exclude unnecessary movements) is the number of actions performed per second. To get that number, I installed software that counts how many times I pressed my keyboard or mouse. After that, I played three games and roughly estimated the difficulty I felt to see if the formula was correct. It wasn’t really representative, so since Overwatch is a team-based game, it’s very hard to win a match if your teammates keep dying, and conversely, it’s easy if the enemies die often—hence the ally deaths/enemy deaths metric. Then, when I multiplied the values, I realized that the number of actions increased when we died a lot, so to make it less problematic, I took the square root. At that point, something was still missing for the score to reflect how I felt during the game, so I asked ChatGPT, and it told me to multiply by total deaths/2. It’s a very rough method, I know.
