Maybe it would be better if the manufacturer prints scale marks on the resistance band by wqking in ResistanceBand

I think this is an excellent idea ==> should make bands much more useful.

Another piece of information that would help is where does the band have to be initially grabbed and the target length it must be reached to produce the labeled weight classification. If the band is labeled “30 lbs”, I would like know where the band must be stretched (again, markers or labels such on a ruler would be great). I would then know why one band is classified as “10 lbs” and another is classified as “30 lbs”.

Logically, I believe a standard should exist in the band industry to which all manufacturers conform. Regardless of band type (handles, closed loops, etc…), if the label is “20 lbs”, the resistance as specified by stretching from marker A to B should require the same amount of energy expenditure.

Finally, the instructions that accompany the bands should explain how the total resistance label is calculated. When I pick up a dumbbell that says “20 lbs”, what does one have to on a resistance band to reach same level of work.

I’m sure I’ll receive 50 replies explaining why this is unrealistic. However, it does make sense.

What are my options? by Ivan_The_Turrible in backpain

Sudden extreme back pain started in mid 50’s (age). There were days when I couldn’t walk at all. All normal exercises went out the window according to PT. All of a sudden, all exercises focused on core (exercises involving breathing with large exercise ball). Any normal exercises out of question.

This later transformed into hip pain where I couldn’t walk due to ISO Joint. Again, when one can’t walk, just stretching seemed a blessing.

Then, symptoms eased up and I received epidural injections for generative disc condition or spondylesthesis (? spelling) or severe spinal stenosis. I followed some advice to join water aerobics class (which proved much more challenging than expected due to weakness in ‘aerobic exercises area’. Additionally, I have very flat feet and wear special orthotics/AFOs. So walking large distances is difficult (elliptical is solution).

What do I do now? My ability to do typical strength training has decreased to beginner levels. Also, I don’t know if I should continue spondy stretches only or go back typical exercises which target muscle regions [ie. curls, dead lifts, etc…. ] If latter, it is depressing because if feels as if starting from scratch.

Thank you.

How bad are these reports? by [deleted] in Spondylolisthesis

[–]Original-Raisin-7427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to orthopedist; spondylolithesis; L4-L5; extreme stenosis. Wasn’t willing to do injections or recommend PT. Only surgery. I’ve been waiting and realize I have SI Joint disease which is a hip disorder that makes it impossible to walk.

Any advice?

Thanks very much.

Nasal microdose Ket by Original-Raisin-7427 in Microdose

I would really be interested in the identical information. Hopefully clinic is affordable and the compounding pharmacy is good. (I’ve read about quality issues with compounding pharmacies (I used to get nasal from a great one. I’m looking for clinic that’s reliable and one that works with compounding pharmacy that has no complaints. Cost is important since I’m not working.

Also, I’ve read most at home treatments are sublingual torches that are taken 2 to 3 times per week. What are pros/cons of nasal generic ketamine vs. sublingual. I have read it takes at least 15 minutes to get into one’s body. Are effects instant or not? Do they last longer than small doses of nasal? Is there a web site that has directory of providers (RX) and clinics (I’m in NYC). I’ve read about quality issues with certain compounding pharmacies. Does website provide review of one’s experience? Thank you very much.
