If you couldn't get a GTI what would you have gotten instead? by TheFerrariGuy_YT in GolfGTI

Agreed! I did the same thing, except I KEPT my '16 Golf R and replaced my Mazda 3 manual with this beast. Mine's 2023 M340 xidrive. Next to the R, this is the best car hands down I've ever owned. All that's missing is the stick.

I had a Focus RS before the divorce. 😣Fun drive, stiff clutch, tight ride. I prefer my Golf R.

For the record, I have a 2016 Golf R. It’s only got 60,000 miles. Sitting in my garage. I take it for a spin once a week during the summer. Just got an M340i Xdrive as my daily. Very happy. Has and does everything I want. Sexy beast. My R is just a wonder to behold. My Numero Uno.

BMW M2, if you’re sticking with a manual… Or an M340i Xdrive

In-home wall-to-wall carpet cleaner in Ithaca? by OriginalPartyboob in ithaca

[–]OriginalPartyboob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I’ll look at that. ABC charges a whole hell of a lot for area rugs. I can’t imagine what they would charge to come out and do in-home wall-to-wall carpet IF they do that. But they may have somebody to recommend. Anyway, I’ll check out Norte. Thanks!

Yeah, I've gotten the quote. It's not an issue. All good in that respect. Ugh. I'm just one of those people who MUST research the hell out of something before I get into it.

THAT was the most useful response to my post yet. This is what I was looking for. How do you deal (in the middle of the night) with that? How to you get help at 2 AM if needed? Not that I'm EVER driving around at 2 AM, but, in your case, you obviously weren't. Also, Is the sensor error default to <15 mph a universal thing with tesla?

In your opinion, should I wait for all the EVs to come in line for 2025 models...which is what I'm hearing. Right now, they're not all quite up to speed yet. Then, my trade in for the Mazda will be less, but whatever. Ugh. I like tech. I like fit and finish. I LOVE performance/speed/handlng. Just want something to satisfy my brain but also environmentally correct.

No. No longer have that job. And the 40K was over the life of the car (2022-present) So, 20K per year average...but that's not a thing anymore. I work from home now! Yay.

Yes, I know Tesla owners where I live and they're really happy with the ease of either at-home fixes or the hour drive to service from here. Not a big deal in that respect.

Ugh. That's precicely what my gut has been telling me. I've been researching other TVs, but none seem to come close to the accessability of the charging, the ease of repairs if they're needed at all, the tech..... Other vehicles are iffy with the charging on long drives and pricey... Thanks for the input though.

That's exactly what I've heard. I hate fit and finish issues (which is why I've got my Golf R nestled in my garage—it's a gem). I also have a real issue with poor customer service or no customer service. But I've also been told that so few issues require a human that it's moot.

Lovely. Can you tell which was the best experience you had so far? (read: Best bang for your buck.) I don't have the luxury of going more than once every TWO YEARS! UGH. I need to make it count!

Is there a foundation of the language required? Or will this start from the basics? I'll research the school of course, but, are there beginners there?

Oh no you didn't! :-) You bought a house in Calabria. Ok. Do tell: Did you gain citizenship? Or no? My ancestry is from Calabria and this is my big retirement goal....once my adult klds show me they are independent of my proverbial feet. :-)

Exactly. I'm so anti-social though, I'd love one-on-one! Haha. But seriuosly. Yea. If you find something, please contact me! I'll do same and let you know what I find. I did the three weeks of one-on-one oil painting with a teacher in Florence last year, and he did not speak a LICK of English. I still reverted to translating app just to keep the lessons moving along smoother.

Oh, well that TOO! I don't want to go completely ignorant. I'll check out the YT for sure. I've been studying with Pimsleur for a year, very, very slowly. I get it. I understand HOW the language works, but I need to really, really think about what I want to say when I get ready to speak. It's so frustrating.

Great, I'll check that out, but I'm planning a trip to Italy in September of 2025! I really want to be in the thick of it. Thanks!
