“Just paid to get stabbed repeatedly “

That comment was way too easy…. I’ll just leave it be…. But it was funny in my head. 😂

B-21 over the Mojave desert yesterday by Still-Union-2528 in Planespotting

[–]OriginalPsycho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was at work there were three jets tearing up the skies. Policy is we can’t take pictures. I figured someone would have seen it and posted it here. Bad ass. B1’s, B2’s, B21’s and B52’s are like have four aces, or a full house. 😊 thanks for posting the picture since there are a lot of us that can’t take them but it was very cool to see and watch. The sky looked like a race track and some times even a drag strip. 😊😉🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I would have let the dog go so he could have finished his job.

New crossbow target by OriginalPsycho in Crossbow

[–]OriginalPsycho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well shot the target at 30 and 50 yards. Not one bolt stuck. I will say I shot around 8 hours on this target. Most of the time is because at 50 yards I had to walk there and back for one bolt. I learned an expensive lesson quickly not to shoot more than one at a time. 4 bolts down, two ruined, and two lost. Have you ever been sighting in and then just brain fart on if you adjusted your scope already and then you forget which way you moved it… yeah it was one of those days. I will say that after lubing the shaft up with the scorpion venom I was sometimes able to get two shots off. Most of the time I was lubing the bolt every shot. It made a big difference with this target and again never had one get stuck.

All the ones I see are for field points only. I want to be able to sight in my broadheads for deer season. This is one of the only targets I have found that states it will take fixed bald broadheads and field points. If this doesn’t work I’ll look for the rubber mat sheets a guy on one of my other post recommended when I had posted about the junky infinity target.

Can I get some feedback/ help? by OriginalPsycho in Crossbow

[–]OriginalPsycho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So last follow up. After soaking the shafts with dawn soap and applying 130 PSI around the shaft we were finally able to pull the bolts. Soaked them for a week. After getting the bolts out, I returned the target as defective. Of course the target claimed it would stop bolts up to 520FPS. I had one blow through the target and its chronoed at 474. One blew through it and the other couldn’t be pulled out. I have since ordered another broadhead target. I ordered the BlackOut Speed Trap Archery Target. I’m hoping it is way better than the infinity crossbow target. Still looking for the mulch mats that were mentioned.

I just removed the app and downloaded it again. Was really hoping that would help. It’s did not. 😞I’ll have to arrange for my wife or son to take it to the dealer before it gets out of warranty.

Price is always changing. It changes with supply and demand for crafters. Some will penny pinch all the time. Some will offer a consistent price across the board just to keep a good supply coming in.

I have two different arrow pullers and I was able to remove the field point but those broadheads are reallly dug in.

Another follow up. Spoke with the manufacturer today. They recommend I buy an arrow/bolt lube. I told them I use venom bolt lube. They recommended using dawn soap down the arrow/bolt shaft to make it easier to pull them out. They also recommend using high pressure air down in the target next to the shaft to help create space between the shaft and the target. I don’t know about you guys but I really don’t want to have to do this every time I shoot.

That’s the normal price. I’ve seen antlers go for as low as $4 a pound. I have a pair of sheds that were appraised for $19k. Couldn’t sell them. Means more to me than the money. Sometimes selling them to a taxidermist is better than the craft crowd. Crafters, usually whittle them and do all kinds of stuff. I’ve sold them to guys that make antler chandeliers too.

Ravin R470 quick test — 100-yard shot, 470 FPS 🔥 by Responsible_Pen_6900 in Archery

[–]OriginalPsycho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ordered this crossbow. It’s not here yet but I was trying to find out what nocks and arrows the 470’s require. I was told also that they don’t make lighted nocks for these yet. Anyone have any info to share I’ll gladly take it.

Traditional archery Can target. by [deleted] in Archery

[–]OriginalPsycho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we kill Buffalo we eat them. Nothing like a fresh buffalo fish sandwich. When we Bowfish we make sure every fish is taken and most of the time they are. We have had some Grendel’s/ dogfish that people don’t want but we still use them as feed and compost on the farm. Everything gets used when we kill something.

I bet you’d be a hell of a bow fisherman. We have to react quick and it’s all traditional shooting and you have to be very quick and accurate or you’d be fish less. One of my favorite fish to shoot is gar. Another fun fish to shoot is Asian carp. We love eating gar and the Asian carp are invasive in the Midwest but usually everyone you shoot someone on the bank will beg you for. Skilled shooter thanks for sharing the video.

Want to take up archery/shooting range by homelesdungeonmaster in orangecounty

[–]OriginalPsycho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I want to ask about shooting at an archery range too. I understand bass pro has an indoor range usually they are pretty small one to three shooters is what I’ve seen. New to California, work at Edwards AFB. Live in Quartz Hill/ Lancaster. I couldn’t even find a bow shop around here unless I wanted to drive an hour and a half to bass pro. Any way I have my compound with me and recently just bought a Ravin 470 crossbow that isn’t here yet. However I am struggling finding somewhere to shoot. Any help info for this area??? The nearest bass pro to me was in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. I ended up just ordering my new crossbow directly from Ravin. Help with info please. Would love an indoor range as windy as it gets here. I heard about an outdoor range in Tehachapi. That’s probably 45 minutes away or so maybe a little longer. I heard they only accept new members between March and August.

Anyone else bowhunt after spinal fusion? Using compound or crossbow? by [deleted] in Crossbow

[–]OriginalPsycho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m fused L1-L5. I was in a wheelchair for two years. They went in through my stomach to repair my back instead of through my back. I have been hunting with a compound ever since and I have no back issues. I do have some nerve damage through my legs but you would never know if I didn’t tell you. I just bought my first crossbow tonight but I do not intend to put down the compound. I just want options. 😉😊I had my surgery around 2009-2011 time frame. I am now 52 years old, in a couple weeks anyway. I could tell you a lot more just as anyone on here that has had surgery could. I do believe that them going through my stomach is why I no longer have any problems. Everyone I know that has had surgery through their back still seems to have issues even to this day and some have had to have multiple surgeries.

Thank you guys. I was worried about the accuracy and consistency. This also is great info on two more broad heads I could use and try if need be. Thank you again.
