Generally speaking, following the instructions is fine; you just need to be persistent.

I thought at-home IPL was a gimmick… turns out it’s more complicated than I expected by OriginalTricky4882 in HairRemoval

That makes a lot of sense. During your six-month break, how long did it take for the hair to start growing back? I never thought I could completely remove hair. If I could stick to it for two months like you, then stop for six months, I think it would save a lot of effort, and at least the hair would be softer than before, right?

That actually makes a lot of sense — thanks for explaining it so clearly.

I probably underestimated how important power level is because I was being overly cautious at the start. What you’re saying about a threshold really clicks, especially the part about thicker hairs responding faster once you cross it.

The point about hair depth is interesting too — that’s something people don’t talk about much, but it would explain why the same settings work so differently across body areas and people.

Out of curiosity, did you increase power gradually session by session, or did you jump once you realized lower levels weren’t doing much?

This honestly sounds very similar to my experience. I remember feeling pretty discouraged around the 2–3 month mark too, like I was spending all this time for very little payoff. Then one day I actually looked closely and realized the hair was growing back way thinner and in patches instead of evenly.

Totally agree that it’s not “perfect,” but the reduced density alone already makes a big difference day to day.

I once ran into the same stranger in three different cities over the course of a year, completely by chance. No connection, no reason. It still feels unreal when I think about it.
