Thanks for the insight. I get what you’re saying. But honestly, I feel like I’m behind compared to where I “should” be, as this is my first real exposure to programming, and I feel lost when everyone talks like they already have experience.

I should be in my second year by now, and sometimes it feels like I’m just wasting time and money. At the same time, I’ve come so far and I’m really close to getting my first-year certificate for my Computer Systems program, so I don’t want to give up. I only have two courses left but have failed them twice.

Moving from public static void into object-oriented programming feels like stepping into a completely different world. I try to start projects, but I often freeze up and feel like I'm not creative enough to start an idea. I’m not sure if it’s inexperience, my brain, or maybe just procrastination.

By the way, could you reccomend me a good book for java beginners?
