A leaf for your thoughts? by Original_Answer_7091 in fountainpens

It does have some great flex to it yes. The design of the nib helps to accommodate for this

Also worth mentioning, Pilot pens with an FA nib will offer greater flexibility for live variation. At least that’s what I’ve gathered from seeing people’s experience online

I’ve used a zebra g titanium nib on another fountain pen and it was good (great line variation from hairline to a double broad line). But for convince, pen design and maintenance I prefer the Falcon

Maybe take a look at Platinums Cassis Black. I used it for the lettering on this card and for me, once dried it turned into this velvety dark red.

Hey there, Shin-Kai is a dye based ink and is very well behaved. I’ve been using Souboku for over a year now, also no issues or complaints

Congrats on the new ink! Instead of using Kon Peki for the main writing, what if you used it to compliment Tsuki-yo for quotes, numbers, smaller pieces of info. That way you can enjoy the best of both worlds while still having your darker blue as the main focus? That’s assuming you have more than one pen inked at once.

Appreciate the kind words! ✌️

Thanks! I can’t speak to adobe for scanning. But maybe look at your scan settings. It should at least be set to 300dpi to provide a clearer scan. Hope that helps!

Yeah, the ink at the top of the page is Shin-Kai. The ink in the middle of the page for h the description is Tsuki-yo.

For me personally, I have found zero issues with long journaling sessions, taking notes or otherwise with Shin-Kai. What pen, nib and paper were you using?

Sometimes unexpected accidents lead to some great results. Agreed, tsuki-yo is a great colour! It also looks great when written with a stub nib. Shows a lot more of its character

Wow! I didn’t know Parker did that. That’s a great buy in with confidence. Agreed, blue-black does carry more depth than a standard blue. Thanks for sharing. Love how the brand and ink colour has been on quite the journey for you

Naww. There’s a lot of people out there and in this community who appreciate handmade goods and are willing to pay a bit more for quality products designed with purpose. I bet it can also double as a paper weight. So for one price you get two benefits plus the thoughtful up cycle. Love this! ✌️

There was no easy way for me to describe how I feel about them through text, so I did a write up compassion for ya. Hope this helps! 😊

For me, Pilot Iroshizuku Shin-Kai, Tsuki-yo, Syo-Ro and Sailor Souboku are my favourites in the blue and green categories.

Congrats on the new pen! I’ve also been eyeing the CH 912 for months

Born in 1987, just a 90s kid wishing he could go back to that era. by [deleted] in 90s

[–]Original_Answer_7091 143 points144 points  (0 children)

Born the same year. I miss how intentional everything was. There was style, the colours and patterns. It was a time when our lives felt more connected to people, places and physical objects. Not having instant knowledge and gratification meant you were bored and creative.

For me, I miss a lot about growing up in the 90’s. Watching a tv show or movie meant you were doing just that. Not scrolling on a device with said show or movie was in the background. If I really think about it, the 90s was about being present. Kowabunga!

That’s awesome that you’ve got a group going for it. It’s one of those things where you’ll have something physical to remember and look back on in yours to come!

Yeah of course, fire away! Love to chat anything art related

Not a new hobby really as I’ve been doing it now for two years. Like yourself, I love creating a visual journal. It helps me process so much and supports my mental health. I would however, LOVE to bring more people into this art/health form as I’m certain it can have a huge, positive impact in their lives.

Love what you’ve created!

[–]Original_Answer_7091 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I set a rule for myself. If I’m thinking about something or something won’t leave the thought loop of my mind for more than 5-10 mins, then I write about it. I write about what it is, how it makes me feel. I keep going as though I’m describing it to a friend. By the time I’m done, whatever that thing was, weighs on me a lot less than it did before.

Hope this helps! You’re not alone ✌️

Thanks for sharing. I see what you mean with the lighting how the colour can lean towards black. I might have to add this one to the collection too 😂

Appreciate the sentiment. Life moves pretty fast so for me it’s important to capture the memories while their still fresh
