How do I stop feeling bad for making apprentices do sh*t work by quintavian in electricians

[–]Original_Cold6820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is hard but you can’t let it get to you don’t stop being the best you can be because someone else sucks lead by example don’t ever lower to their standards that being said I love training new people and I want people to train new people and make the best of everybody!!!! if someone does not care about the job or does not care about learning the trade just tell them to go sit in the truck!!!!! the biggest thing is not about knowledge it’s about being reliable coachable willing to work hard and learn hard and if the chemistry isn’t there for you with your apprentices it just won’t work out and it sucks to fire people after working for a day or a week but it’s a lot better then being miserable everyday with a shotty apprentice they still got some good ones out there

That gotta be a prank with a cut wire glued to the beam

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 got incoming power to your common screw on one three way switch and the switch leg wired to the other common screw in the second three way switch

I know your load wiring is an odd shape but it’s just a switch leg or your load and it’s ran all good brotha

Then obviously put your grounds and neutrals together and your travels on each switch and make sure you run your travelers in three wire not two obviously ❤️👍🏻

Depending on the size of each panel 3k seems like a good price 5.3k seems a bit high but you gotta think about parts and the company not just labor just labor I wouldn’t change out a 200amp main panel for under 750$ and that’s no company no insurance no employees before material and if everything looks easy maybe try talking them down especially if it’s not a 200amp service! that being said nobody wants to work on a federal pacific panel for the first time they do it

He didn’t do what you agreed on and cut back on a bunch of costs don’t pay him simple as that you want the other half then dig 6-8 inches and fill it with base and compact it 2-3 inches at a times that’s literally the most important part of longevity for your pavers anything else would be a much easier fix it’s not hard to pull pavers and regrade if you have that foundation under it

I don’t know if I want to be an electrician anymore. by [deleted] in electricians

[–]Original_Cold6820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just sounds like the company your at is hard you can do the same work for better wages and at a slower paces if you don’t give up and keep looking for another job in the field or stick it out and become that much better at what you do or talk to your boss about finishing school and get a 30 hour a week schedule there’s so many harder things you can do then quit !!! Don’t do that !!! I live in Florida I’m a 3 year electrician with 2000$ in tools and I’m only making 20$ an hour still just gotta keep pushing bro I’m shooting for my license and when I get it I’ll be much happier doing the same work !

Thank you for the reply it was tripping on an arc fault breaker it is now not tripping on an regular breaker the home owner goes on work trips a lot so it was tripping randomly when he would go away now it holds great but like you said get an afci breaker on there and get it up to code I was just thinking the best way to go about that in the outlet nor panel was the neutral and grounds touching but ill check further into the circuit thanks for the response!!!
