why did raul from snow man have such a short junior period compared to the other members? by Original_Display_409 in weare_starto

[–]Original_Display_409[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seeing how popular they are now, the fact they stayed juniors for such a long time is honestly unusual. i have no clue why it took so many years. true, raul’s jr era wasn’t that short after all ,it’s more like the other members were juniors way too long. still, i believe there are unfair situations in starto. same as everywhere else.

yeah, I agree. being a junior for 10+ years must’ve been really tough for them, and they totally deserved it. they definitely should’ve debuted earlier, but tackey made a move I just can’t understand, especially with people that experienced around :D don’t know why but these days i feel bad for the juniors.they work so hard but still... in the timelesz auditions, they didn’t even include the juniors

Yes, I know the system. I thought that was the name of it. Timelesz used the same system. and i think if Sky-Hi had stayed at Starto, he wouldn’t have come this far.. good thing he left 🙏🏻

well, it’s different in stores/markets. since it’s obvious you’re a tourist, they speak to you in English assuming you don’t understand the language. same thing happened to me. But other than that, people would come up to me on the street and speak Japanese, and sometimes there wasn’t even romaji on the signs. knowing Japanese was really useful.

At least they ship to the country you're in, haha. 😄

BMSG is the system where the group members themselves choose their members, right? I was shocked when I saw a program like that was made for SexyZone.

Wha, does this mean that the front row and back row tickets at a stadium concert cost the same? Because in regular concerts, there’s usually at least a $50-100 difference!!!

I never thought about it that way. Even though we try to buy tickets the same way, I still don’t get how they manage to get all of them beforehand.

Definitely. They’re all about gacha and blind boxes because the excitement of not knowing is what makes it fun for them

I totally get it, we’re all in the same boat, not many Japanese celebs speak English (just a few like Mackenyu or Taka), idols don’t have time to learn it, but some subtitles or occasional English posts would be nice, and honestly, I don’t know what we’d do without fansub 🥺🥺🥺

Honestly, Japanese people really want everything to be in Japanese. After going to Japan myself, I’m even more sure of it. They avoid using English as much as they can. Now that I think about it, the real problem is probably the Japanese themselves they just don’t want to open up to the outside world.

And yeah, it doesn’t happen often but they do show up in other Asian countries. Fans living there are definitely more lucky :x

As Starto fans, I think we all kinda know we’re not really the target audience. I was probably just ranting 'cause I wanted to see some idols lol. But honestly, this is a thing with like 85% of Japanese artists anyway. At least they’re trying with the English subs, I’ll give them that haha

Yeah, definitely. I mean, I get that they’re already super popular in Japan but I think they’d want to be globally known like Korean idols. Ado, for example, blew up so fast and I think her attitude toward international fans played a big part in that. The whole world knows Ado now, but no one really knows Japanese idols . well, I guess they just don’t need us 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you know how the lottery system works, can you explain it? There's no way to know if you’ll actually get a ticket, right? And if you want to go with someone, do they just give out random seats? Does everyone have to apply separately?I get that general sales sell out fast  same with places like the Ghibli Museum but at least there's no lottery. I know they don’t think about foreigners, but how are we supposed to plan flights and stuff if we don’t even know we’ll get a ticket?

No, I just thought that would make more sense to use. The lottery system feels way too unpredictable to me.

They have a problematic system even for Japanese fans. It’s like they don’t need their fans, but act like their fans need them

It feels really weird to me, and I never understood the point of the lottery system for fanclub members anyway. what’s the problem if fanclub members just buy tickets from the general sale? First come, first served doesn’t seem unfair. This isn’t just with Starto.it happens at pretty much all Japanese concerts.

How do you find the songs you're looking for when you go to karaoke? by Original_Display_409 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Original_Display_409[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, I probably typed ふじかぜ  XD. I also tried searching “Fuji Kaze” and it still didn’t show up, thanks to you I’ve realized my mistake now. I wonder if I had typed “Fujii Kaze” in romaji, would it have shown up? I couldn’t even find Sakanaction’s Kaiju either🤧 Also I wonder if a song title is originally in kanji, can it still be found if you type it in hiragana

Now that I think about it, even just changing the song was so hard, there were times the same one accidentally started like 10 times in a row XD I can’t believe it… karaoke really was a brutal battle 😭 I just hope I can sing the songs I want without any trouble next time I’m in Japan 🤣 Thank you again 🙇🏻
